I don't really know anymore. Because Thor is capable of being wounded and Asgardians can die, does that mean they're not truly gods and just aliens with divine powers?
The difference is when gods die they can ressurect again later.
For example, Jesus ressurected after three days so he could be considered as god.
Not all asgardians are gods but Thor and Loki are gods.
God of thunder and god of stories.
Thor has been dead many times but he always comes back because he is destined to finally die only after he succeeds his father Odin and becomes All-Father of Asgard.
But ironically nobody could kill Thor after that and Thor then rules the Nine Realms for countless centuries until the literal end of time, where there is no life left in the universe except for himself (and somehow with Wolverine).

Still all of this also means nothing in comic books since almost all comic characters (that is not Uncle Ben) have died at some point and be brought alive again later.
