I realize this is a Sega based site, but I was wondering which of these two consoles would be better. I just don't have anyone else to ask. Should I buy a Nintendo 64 or a Nintendo Gamecube?

Easy choice. Definitely Nintendo Gamecube.
It has many more third party games compared to N64.
It even has lot of SEGA games :
Super Monkey Ball 1-2, Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure Battle, Sonic Heroes, Billy Hatcher, Virtua Quest, Puyo Pop Fever, Sonic Riders, Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II, Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution, many sport games, and best of all ... Skies of Arcadia Legend.
While Nintendo64 has none from SEGA.
Or just 3 if you counted Atlus (Snowboard Kids 1-2 and Ogre Battle 64)
Besides now we can play N64 games on Switch thanks to NSO, but Gamecube games?

I second the GameCube. Not only because of the games, but because of the controller. The Nintendo 64 had one of the most uncomfortable controllers of all time.
As far as the games go, you can play Army Men games on both, but "Beyond Good & Evil" is a Gamecube game that I highly recommend. I'm not sure about homebrew and third party games. Those seem to be Berto's expertise.

Yeah, also because of that strange controller design too, almost forgot.
Used CIB gamecube games also cheaper than N64 games.
Its box is also safer than N64's cardbox.
Third party games list from Gamecube isn't as good as PS2
(no Street Fighter, GTA, or main Final Fantasy series on Gamecube)
but the line-up is still better than N64.
For Homebrews, both of them are equally dissapointing,
considering Wii and Super Nintendo has many of them.
First party game that I recommend is Warioware Inc.
It's basically the same as GBA version, but with two player mode.
Easy to pick for quick play with friends or family who aren't into gaming.
It's funny too, making it perfect for gathering.

I know Warioware on Switch has two players mode too,
but the game's too confusing for new players.
Warioware games' charm are in their simplicity,
but in Switch version every character has different moveset,
kinda confusing for new players.
In Gamecube version, one button is all we need,
everybody could just play it right away.

I guess GameCube is the clear winner here. Thanks guys.
