Post by: Aki-at on May 28, 2010, 06:13:16 pm
Well the time is upon us soon, another E3 looms, so far we've had hints, teasers but nothing major outside of knowing there is a new Sonic game and the new Total War game is most likely Shogun 2. This topic here is for everything that is revealed and shown during E3.

Potential E3 Lineup (Titles will be removed from here as soon as they are confirmed to be at E3)
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (Playable)
- Sonic Colours (Playable)
- Shogun 2: Total War
- Phantasy Star Portable 2
- The Conduit 2
- Vanquish
- Tournament of Legends
- Sonic Adventure (XBLA/PSN)
- Valkyria Chronicles 2
- Aliens: Colonial Marines
- Virtual-On Force

Confirmed E3 lineup
- Yakuza 4 - Playstation 3
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (Playable) - PSN/XBLA/WiiWare/iPhone/iPad
- Vanquish - Xbox360/Playstation 3
- Phantasy Star Portable 2 - Playstation Portable
- Sonic Colours (Playable) - Nintendo Wii/DS
- Shogun 2: Total War - PC
- The Conduit 2 - Nintendo Wii
- Tournament of Legends - Nintendo Wii
- Valkyria Chronicles 2 - Playstation Portable

This list will be cleaned up the closer we get to E3 and the actual lineup in confirmed.

Impressive Line up so far, much better than what was expected from me.

Somehow I doubt Aliens: Colonial Marines is still there.

At this point, an AVP sequel is more likely.

Aliens Colonial Marines is still in development.

Bayonetta should be at E3 again, simply because it is too awesome for one E3.

Oh, OK. Then I stand corrected.

I'm also looking foward to any potential Sega Natal game.

Sega will probably make a few revelation this week before E3 actually starts.

while the line-up is .... OK

i don't think that this is a satisfying line-up at this moment

where is my VF5FS , Nagoshi's new title , Yakuza 4 , the new PSO and Border break ??? the XBLA/PSN stuff other than 2 sonic games ? Natal & Move stuff ?

there is no excuse for them to not showing any of those games .... yes even Border Break !

so i am expecting more from SEGA in the upcoming weeks , but i am afraid i will be disappointed

Well looks like your just going to have an 'ok' E3 then... I doubt any of those games would be shows at anything but TGS.

Yakuza 4 will probably go though a long 'maybe maybe not' process again.

I'm sure there will be a few more suprised though.

there are more games for SEGA to save for TGS like whatever the VC team is working on now , RGG games , portable stuff ... etc

SEGA need to start focusing more on E3 announcements .
where is all the talk regarding the direction SEGA of Japan is taking now toward the WW market ? it's been two years since i heard that statement ...

What a poor lineup///  Im only interested in Vanquish and Sonic Colors.

Sega should invest more on the USA market, since they are not stronger there than before.

At the same time, what the Americans would like from Sega? New sequels from Sega classics? I don't think so...

I think they need new IPs for USA.

The point is that from the latest statements and from the official forecasts contained in the financial press, SEGA will reduce the number of traditional(or better packaged) games published and developed , mostly this year in the west , in favor of "digital" strategy; so i do not expect a large number of new titles

They said that they would increase their digital presence but it wouldn't affect their retail output.

As for this E3, theres some good stuff in there I'm interested in, but nothing i'm really holding out for especially. Hopefully they have some nice XBLA Surprises and maybe an announcement of something new. Seeing something more of Vanquish will be nice though.

Shenmue III^.

But seriously, why the hell are we expecting to see Vanquish and especially Virtual On before Japan does? Wasn't Virtual On said to be only 30% done at its reveal like last week?
Title: Re: Official SEGA's E3 2010 Topic
Post by: MadeManG74 on May 30, 2010, 02:29:50 am
I don't know about Virtua On, but I wouldn't be too surprised to see something on Vanquish. I don't remember that much about Bayonetta, but MadWorld certainly had showings at E3 and Comic-Con and the like.

Not to mention we really don't know much about Vanquish, it seems we get the same 'new' screenshots every other month, but still don't have a lick of video. It's been long enough for it, which leads me to believe they might have something substantial at E3.
Title: Re: Official SEGA's E3 2010 Topic
Post by: Nathan on May 30, 2010, 02:49:50 pm
Yes, but MadWorld was meant for the west since its inception. It came out here first, and when MadWorld released in Japan, I don't even think SEGA had a hand in it. Could be mistaken, though.

There's no way Virtual On Force will be at E3...Vanquish MIGHT make a slight appearance, but nothing major. There's not even that much in Japan yet, and even though it gets a worldwide simultaneous release, I think in Japan will probably get the most attention.

SEGA and Mikami have come out multiple times and said that Vanquish is being developed specifically for the Western market.

Vanquish will appear on this week's GTTV episode... Now I do not know if its another pre-rendered trailer or the first gameplay footage.

I asked Geoff but he did not reply to me yet.

They are cutting the shit out of the line up, that is why they are releasing less games, but profiting more.

Ok, I stand corrected on Vanquish then. But it is being developed in Japan, and like it or not, the Japanese version will be further ahead because SEGA West still has to translate. So I think if the Japanese haven't seen too much, then we won't see it before they do. Could be wrong.

It does sound as thought someone is kind of making up a story and trying to get the reader to think they 'worked out' that its Psy-Phi.

I wont be expecting it, but if its there then awesome... Now wheres Propeller Arena for XBLA/PSN?

Tsurumi said it, I think.

But the game is developing in Japan. So, it only makes sense that the Japanese version will be done first, right? And therefore, SEGA/PG can release more info about the Japan version first, right? Do you see what I'm saying?

Yes, I am positive on that too Storm.

SEGA (With a host of other publishers) said to expect some surprises at E3 this year.

Sonic the Hedgehog was released outside of Japan first. Also keep in mind when Platinum Games partnership with SEGA was first announced, it was in Europe.

Likewise, Bayonetta was never dubbed in Japanese and was infact developed completely in English, I see the same thing occuring here.

Nope, the last few Shining games did not sell very well here (And even then, those ones did not make it over to Europe) both Neo and Exa bombed in America. You can imagine fans hated it because it was called Shining Force and not a SRPG.

But SEGA took it as a reason not to release Shining Force Feather yet, most likely because of the failure of the other Shining games. Though it would be great to see a proper Shining Force game announced at E3.

However, I doubt it

it's already confirmed in the latest Famitsu magazine , that SEGA will have some big surprises to show in E3 .

but is the rumor you are talking about regarding the shining force series specifically or is it just your wishful thinking ?
because i can't imagine that SEGA would announce a new shining force first in U.S !
and if it was right it would be a new announcement , if it was SFF the Japanese press won't talk about it cause the game already in the market there .

No.

I'm all up for bashing shitty Sonic games I don't know if you knew me when Heroes or Shadow came out but I was not amused.

But from what I'm seeing here (even more so then Sonic 4) It looks like it COULD be a great Sonic game.

I don't know about you, but to me complaining about things like levels with dough nuts when we have waited so long for something that is off the wall seems so petty.

Who has waited for a game that was 'off the walls'? I and probably everyone normal just want a basic game that is fun, and with this Sonic Colors seems alright, Sonic Free Riders is the complete opposite of what would be considered a good idea though. This is where the joke comes from, you do not need to get bent out of shape with every little jab given to Sonic Team, loosen up a bit!

Just be happy I did not mention the STRANGE MINECART

Lots of people were waiting for a game that was off the wall... I've read so many complaints about the 'boring real worldy levels' like radical highway... and I agree they are quite boring.

The only saving grace of Sonic Heroes WAS its cool and crazy level designs...

Sonic Adventure Light Dashing To PlayStation 3

By Spencer . June 7, 2010 . 2:02am

It appears the Sonic Adventure digital re-release isn’t only for the Xbox 360. The ESRB re-rated Sonic’s Dreamcast debut as a PlayStation 3 game as well.

According to the ESRB, Sonic Adventure will spin dash onto PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This news comes a week after confirmation from Korea’s Game Rating Board that Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi are bound for the Xbox 360. Sega has yet to announce either game, even though a magazine already reviewed Sonic Adventure.

Hey, maybe that rumor about Dreamcast games coming to PlayStation Network was true after all. I’d buy an upscaled Jet Grind Radio and Shenmue any day.

http://www.siliconera.com/2010/06/07/so ... station-3/ (http://www.siliconera.com/2010/06/07/sonic-adventure-light-dashing-to-playstation-3/)

I didn't feel it was worth the thread and I'm guessing we'll see something during E3.

So far, we've got...

Confirmed E3 lineup
- Yakuza 4 - Playstation 3
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (Playable) - PSN/XBLA/WiiWare/iPhone/iPad
- Vanquish - Xbox360/Playstation 3
- Phantasy Star Portable 2 - Playstation Portable
- Sonic Colours (Playable) - Nintendo Wii/DS
- Shogun 2: Total War - PC
- The Conduit 2 - Nintendo Wii
- Tournament of Legends - Nintendo Wii

4 titles on the Wii/WiiWare, 3 titles on the Playstation/PSN, 2 titles on the Xbox360/XBLA, 1 title on the Playstation Portable, PC and Nintendo DS so far. I think we will see quite a few more towards time and maybe even 1 or 2 announced at E3.

Yo dude :) Been lurking around for a bit, just felt compelled to post since I'm genuinely really excited about Sega this E3, Yakuza 4 with no cuts and dreamcast games on PSN/XBLA was already a great start. PSO2 and/or VF5:FS would be amazing.

Yeah it's going to be a good E3 for Sega. Lots of cool stuff.

I don't expect to see PSO2 or VF5:FS there my self BUT they are both coming to console... mark my words.

I would put money on them both being at TGS this year.
