The Last Boss: Captain Onishima

Quote
Onishima would call in helicopter gunships with side-winder missiles and Paratroopers (with orders to shoot to kill) to wipe you (and everything in a ten-meter radius of you) off the face of the earth forever.
No kidding, he actually calls in the military and goes all DEFCON 5 on your butt, if that’s not a good deterrent for vandalism, nothing is.

Feel the Magic: XY/XX (DS)
Clean off the dirt and cuts off your aforementioned lover

Quote
Can you imagine that Sonic Team out of all developers, created a wacky dating game with some simple, but Warioware-like minigames?
Well, it happened in 2004, with Feel the Magic: XY/XX for the Nintendo DS.
Known as Project Rub in places other than the US, you must aid a young boy to become a man and swoon the loving girl of his life.
Weird, unusual, and often very sensual, this game will tickle your senses and feel the love (err…magic) that is in the air.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F
Colorful Game with Addictive Gameplay

Quote
When playing the musical stages, the sounds the buttons make when pressing them are really satisfying.
When you are doing really badly in a song the vocaloid stops singing, which is a good way to let you know you are doing badly!
Sometimes the screen gets so busy you might not notice otherwise.

Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure was originally developed for the Nintendo DS
Interview with Shun Nakamura-san, Producer of Rhythm Thief

Quote
Adam Riley: Did you ever consider the idea of Wi-Fi downloads to keep gamers playing in the future? If no, please explain why.
Nakamura-san: I did not consider it just because I did not know the feature was planned to be included in the 3DS when we started the development back on the DS. I would have considered if I knew it at the early stage!

SEGA leaves Japanese arcade management business

Quote
SEGA has basically, mostly, sold off its Arcade arcade business to GENDA, a company founded in 2018 to operate arcade rentals, online crane games.
I know its mostly a Japanese thing, but SEGA’s arcade business has been part of its history almost since the start and having them sell off 85% of the shares on the companies 60th Anniversary is a bit bitter.

Sega’s Video Game Business Holds Strong Among Bleak Overall Financial Results

Quote
Repeat sales (of games released in the previous quarters) were strong, especially outside of Japan. The performance of new free to play titles was also solid.
Sega expects the strong performance of its video game business to continue for the rest of the fiscal year, including both repeat sales and the free-to-play segment.
