It finally happened. What I was wondering is why isn't this game published by Sega over there? I took this assumption from the game's boxart. Sega's logo is nowhere to be seen.

It's being published by a company called Spike it seems. I never heard of them.
-
I know Spike do the Fire Pro Wrestling games, and I think they might have had something to do with the Japanese release of Bioshock as well.
-
When it was originally shown to SEGA of Japan and Nintendo of Japan, neither of them wanted anything to do with the game. I am not sure how they got through all of that, but I do not even know why they bothered. Doubt this interests many people over there at all.
-
I like the black Wii logo on the top of the box.
Spike co-published the first No More Heroes in Japan too.

Me too. Sadly it's just a matter of ratings...

Well, Saint's Row 2, Conan and Fear 2: Project Origin were published by Sega in Japan. How crazy is that?
-
Not that crazy. But since Sega supposedly owns the IP this is odd. Unless they licensed it in some manner.
-
I think Capcom publishes GTA in Japan too.

You do not need to own an IP to publish it, you just have to pay royalties. For instance, Batman Arkham Asylum is published by Eidos, not Warner Brothers or DC.
-
Spike and SEGA working closely together anyway.
-
Nintendo published Sonic Rush Adventure in Korea.
And I think Activision published the PC version of SADX.

Sega vs Fire Pro Wrestling confirmed.

One of the top man(maybe the TOP ONE) of Spike cames from Sega, that's why they are that close with our loved company. The black layout was made by Nintendo and now on all MATURE titles have to had this black label on it in Japan.
Sega logo does not appear on the cover, but the company is credited as owner of the title on the board of all packages, images, etc...
Marvelous Entertainment is the publisher of No More Heroes(I think they are also the owners of the title). Marvelous is another company that have a link with Sega(let's say that Sega helped them on the past). You can find ex-Sega employees everywhere in Japan. LOL.
Well, Saint's Row 2, Conan and Fear 2: Project Origin were published by Sega in Japan.
This is a different case. These titles are not under Sega's label. Sega is not doing the localization or anything else. You can not find Sega's logo anywhere on these titles under "Sega's Partnership Deal".
Anyway, oddly, Madworld cames to Japan without cut! Oh yeah, its the same as the American version, with all the blood and violence. Rare case!! On the other hands, Dantes Inferno is coming to Japan completely sliced...

Thats interesting that some one took other the publishing rights for the game in Japan... i remember form an interview when the game was being released, it was asked if Japan would get it. They said it wouldn't sell... kind of odd some one would pick it up if its truly a finical risk

shoot. meant to hit post reply not new topic... Sorry. can some one merge this with the other thread.
-
Cool, now the original title was raped.
-
God of War Collection -> Capcom
God of War 3 -> Sony
They can't do a bundle with all 3 titles because the publishers are different... lol
However, there is a Trilogy box sold by Japanese Amazon.
Destroy All Humans was localized and published by Sega; but the cheaper version was published by the owner of the franchise(THQ?Activision?) and there is no Sega label anywhere.
Maybe Sega does not want it anymore ;P

That's because Sega distrubutes THQ titles now or at least three years ago they did. And that was down to Sega wanting to retain THQ's Disney games.

MADWORLD has sold more or less than 5 thousand copies in Japan till now...

SASAR, were it to be localized for Japan, would greatly benefit from the vocal talents of this man for the race commentator:

Hell, I'd import that shit.
