360 Game Room

When you start it up, it forces you to download packs of games just to even play. After that it tries to load then freezes.

Good stuff.

Goddamn are you a negative Nancy.

Game Room starts up just fine. Game packs download super fast and it did NOT freeze for me.

Game Room is pretty cool, and I can definitely see the potential. I thought you would have to pay to play, but every game has a free demo version that gives more than enough playtime to get the feel of the game or simply provide a nice "quickie". I bought  Centipede and tried Adventure and Yar's Revenge. Great emulation, and the option to rewind a game adds a great new dimension. It's like Braid meets an arcade game.

Can't wait to see what Sega could offer, were they to bring games to Game Room.

I spent a half an hour on this garbage awhile ago. I am not being negative, I am just being honest that it does not work.

I just got home from trying to walk in a spring blizzard, so I redownloaded it all to see if it will work the second time.

Edit: apparently it still sucks. 1/10, dysfunctional crap.

The only good thing about Braid is Soulja Boy's review

What does Braid have to do with this?

Well, I downloaded it, it works fine. 11/10

You have the option of "rewinding" the game in unranked mode, so if you die, you do the "Braid" rewind and dodge what killed you.

So nothing.

And Barry, the game is broken for almost everyone else except you.

Looks like I'm the exception to the rule. It downloaded perfectly for me, I downloaded the game packs and played for an hour with no problems. Guess it sucks not to be me.

Apparently I have to unplug my ethernet cord, start up the game, then plug it back in, followed by signing in. This is how the game is started up.

I guess they got the 'shite doesn`t work right' part down for old games.

I'd say any arcadey Dreamcast games may appear in the future, but don't count on things like Shenmue or JSR... unless they prove us wrong!

I would hope that stuff like that gets ported to XBLA rather than Game Room, with their own achievements and more fleshed out options rather than just being a straight emulation.

Gamesroom seems like a cool idea for smaller games that they don't want to go through the work of upgrading them or adding achievemetns and just chuck them on the emulator and let us play.

Gamesroom also has a universal achievement system which is pretty snazzy.
