Should be, yeah. Maybe an HD port of the Wii U port. :D

The team needs a break. Hell, even a new Super Monkey Ball would be a change of pace.

The teams alternate between two.

But that's the nature of the industry now, I don't expect new IPs from them after Binary Domain was a major financial failure. I'm also not sure how rigid their team structure is considering people from Sonic Team helped develop the Black Panther spinoffs.

(And I for one, welcome the endless amount of sequels. I need my daily dose of food cart submissions.)

They will get one because of who is in charge of Yakuza studio. It just depends whether Sega can organize themselves properly to create a hit out of their next original title. We know they can do it after seeing the sales of other Sega titles with less of a pedigree than YAKUZA Studio who is meant to be the top dog in SOJ at the moment.

Ryu-ga-gotoku Zero!!!  :o

Probably a prequel.

p.s. the subtitle is "chikai no basho" , translated> a nearby place / the place of the vow, but the promised place sounds better.

I hope this is the YAKUZA game i've been waiting for....one that's set in the seventies where the real inspiration for this series, Yakuza films in japan had their golden age..and that sonny chiba is in it....or knowing our luck its Kazuma in space....

IIRC, Nagoshi did once make an offhand remark that he wanted the cast to be able to be put into any setting, including space.  ;D

I would buy a Space Yakuza. Or I would if it ever got translated, which it wouldn't.

I want to get excited for this game, but...

rumor:

Quote
Yakuza 0 is set in December 1988 Kamurocho, Tokyo and Soutenbori, Osaka, this week’s Famitsu reveals.
The protagonists are 20-year-old Kazuma Kiryu and 24-year-old Majima Goro. Kiryu works as a bill collector under the Tojo Clan’s Dojima Family. Goro, on the other hand, is a cabaret club manager who turned a spot that was on the verge of closing into the most popular club in Soutenbori.
The events of Yakuza 0 are directly connected to the events of the original Yakuza. Thus, many characters from the original will appear in the upcoming prequel.
Yakuza 0 is in development for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. A release date is still to be announced.
