So... how would you compare the Shining series with the Fire Emblem series?

I grew up with Shining series so I'm still biased toward Shining series.
Fire Emblem feels like what if we put anime tropes into Shining Force gameplay.
It's not a bad thing but I'd rather play Persona or 7th Dragon series if I want anime tropes in games.

I only played the one, maybe two odd games from each of them so I fear my opinions maybe biased with lack of experience.

I just figure Shining is to Fire Emblem as Sonic is to Mario.

Why Shining Force?
Why not Valkyria Chronicles is the one compared to Fire Emblem?
Valkyria Chronicles is also strategy game and nowadays the franchise's given spotlight more by SEGA than Shining series?

I figured because both franchises are just as dated as one another.

Both Shining and VC? Game-wise may be, but appearance-wise VC still got cameo and toys.

I meant Shining and Fire Emblem being as dated as one another. They they're the Sonic to Nintendo's Mario sort of way.

Whoops, then yeah probably, though all Fire Emblem games on NES and SNES were only released in Japan.
They weren't published in the west at that time.
The first Fire Emblem game to be localized in the west was the Game Boy Advance version in 2003.
10 years after the first Shining Force game released in the west.

Huh I did not know that.

Still working on my collage and I still have three slots left of Smash Bros. characters to compare to Sega All-Stars and I figured Fire Emblem was my best bet.
