"Buying games in the early ’90’s was tough. Nowadays we have instant access to the internet, so it’s easy to spot a game on the shelf, Google search reviews, and make the decision to purchase. Back in ’92 all I had to go by was the box art and the few screenshots provided on the back. Being a huge fan of both Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters, it only made sense for me to seek out the Genesis titles those franchises provided, and boy did I strike gold.
Unlike NES fans who were stuck with the often derided Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters, SEGA fans were graced with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist and Ghostbusters, by SEGA and Puyo Puyo developer Compile. I picked Ghostbusters up used at a store humorously named “Gamebusters”.
Booting the game up for the first time was an aural delight – a near perfect 16-bit rendition of the Ghostbusters theme song! the game that followed was excellent, featuring fun platforming, light RPG elements, and a spooky soundtrack." - Barry

It’s been years since Ivan Reitman’s Ghostbusters graced the silver screen on June 8th 1984.
Has this relic of cross-promotional tie-ins aged just as well as the movie, or should it be cast aside along with Extreme Ghostbusters?

Developer Retrospective: The winning combination of SEGA and Compile

Believe it or not, Compile also developed Ghostbusters for the Genesis/Mega Drive!
While Nintendo fans suffered through lackluster Ghostbusters games developed by Activision, Genesis/Mega Drive owners enjoyed an action platformer that continued the story of the original Ghostbusters film and featured inventive bosses, catchy music, and challenging gameplay.
Compile also handled the Master System port of Ghostbusters, which was based on Activision’s NES version but thanks to Compile, featured improved graphics and gameplay.

Rocket League Halloween update sees Ghostbusters return

The Halloween event begins in Rocket League today, with developer Psyonix once again teaming up with the Ghostbusters crew.
This year’s Haunted Hallows has mostly been done before in Rocket League, but it provides a chance for players who missed out previously.

I just hope "Rookie" is playable again, or at least have a story mode like the Ghostbuster game he's from.
Social games are only popular for sociable people. Not much so for those who prefer single-player.

There's also single player who use social media to post his photos of his game he completed / collected.
Because if he kept the photos only on his smartphone and somehow his smartphone / memory card became broken / corrupted, he could lose all of his photos.

Winston looks to match up well with the visual style of his Ghostbusting counterparts, even including unique attributes, being stronger and jumping higher, which as it turns out, makes him a rather OP character.
Revealed in the tweet, the upcoming mod will also include custom uniforms, comprised of the Sega Genesis original, khaki, and the dark flight suits seen in Ghostbusters II.

"Noticed an instance of a ladder not appearing leading to Mr. Stay Puft during a stream.
Leaving the building and re-entering worked just fine.

Ghostbusters: Special Edition gets slime-splattered physical release for Sega Genesis

While available to play now through emulation, for fans hoping to grab a physical copy, you’re in luck, as @toy_saurus_games_sales has cooked up a retro release that’ll not only work on original Sega hardware but comes encased inside updated packaging that includes a revamped instruction manual and glow-in-the-dark slime-green cartridge.
Despite the physical release receiving praise from BillyTime! Games, one of the modders behind the project, we should state that much like the patch, this has been made by fans, for fans, and is not endorsed by Columbia Pictures Ghost Corps or anyone who worked on the original 1990 release.

Lot of Playstation games that I didn't know including that one.
I was to devote to my Saturn back then so I almost never touch Playstation ... at least until Street Fighter EX came along.
The first Street Fighter game in 3D and it skipped my favorite system.
Swallow my pride and played that game many times in rental.

I don't know why but I assosiated Ghostbusters with Christmas.
Why? May be because of the ice and the snow, especially the snow ghost Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.
Ice and snow feel much closer to Christmas than Halloween.

I remember watching Dragons: Riders of Berk (https://howtotrainyourdragon.fandom.com/wiki/Dragons:_Riders_of_Berk) and it was the third episode "Animal House (https://howtotrainyourdragon.fandom.com/wiki/Animal_House)" which got me thinking, "for an episode nothing to do with Christmas, it certainly feels like a Christmas episode."In the episode, the riders were trying to find a lost sheep before a snowstorm hits. The fact the farm animals were afraid of the dragons did not help.
The animals, riders and dragons ended up trapped in a pit of sorts while the blizzard rages over them. Feeling cold and alone, the animals and dragons got over their differences and cuddled together along with the riders for warmth and comfort.
To me, this given me the idea that a Christmas story doesn't necessarily have to be about Christmas. It could invoke the feelings of Christmas such as family or seeking comfort and safety in others, as well as familiar elements such as snow, evergreen, fir trees etc.
Anyway I normally associate Ghostbusters with Halloween because of ghosts and spookiness. And while Ghostbusters were not that scary, especially compared to the cartoons, it did had some rather frightening moments.

I know, just hard to put my mindset that Ghostbusters can be Christmassy. I mean I know there were a few Christmas specials in their cartoons, and I know ghost stories were a Christmas tradition at one point, just ghosts ar eusually associated with Halloween.
Then you got shows like Monster High which either acknowledge Halloween as a thing over Christmas, or just make up holidays for the sake of their monster pun quota.
