That is all I wanted before I spent 40+ dollars on this game (its still 50ish at some places)

Darksiders turned out to be quite a polarizing game, with people loving or hating it. Now you can decide which camp you're in when a chunky demo of the game hits later this month.
The 90-minute demo, which hits the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on Feb. 25, contains the Twilight Cathedral, the entire first level of the campaign. The level includes puzzles, equipment to find and even two boss battles.
"We are really pumped to be bringing a playable demo for Darksiders to Xbox 360 and PlayStation3," said David Adams, General Manager of Vigil Games. "We really wanted to give gamers a true idea of the variety of gameplay that the game offers and so rather than just making a standard 20-minute demo version of the first few levels, we decided to give away this massive level and reveal the true essence of the game."
For those of you who have played through the game, I'm still desperately trying to get caught up on my library of titles, is that the sort of level that will sell this game? Is it a good cross-section of the full experience?

Awesome news! I have been wanting to play it since early last year, but I had to get other games first... And this will be cheap fast. It is already $40 in a lot of places.

It never ceases to amaze me how fast games drop in price in USA. I saw WET on a massive sale for $40 and thought that was a bargain. Hell, Halo Wars is still $45, and Gears 2 is still $43.
Anyway, you guys should definitely check out that demo, Twilight Cathedral is a big level, and quite fun as well. If you like Zelda or similar games, you'll like this game too I think.

Extremely. I mean, I've only played Twilight Princess, but it was very very similar, but better in most ways to that game. I can't judge how it compares to stuff like Wind Waker and Ocarina though.

I loved Soul reaver on DC.
Dont do it Dan, you know you can't afford anymore games, c'mon look at the release list coming up, you have SASAR and Yakuza 3 to buy before you next get paid...

Even though the game is a success it is already like $40 around here. I expect it to drop down a lot more within the next few months.

yeah same here, my online is up and running next thursday, hopefully the demo arrives on that day.
It's only £25 here which is about 40% off.
