Tarzan, Civil War, Rogue One and Batman - The Movies of 2016
« on: December 10, 2015, 04:56:34 am »
As 2015 is just about to end, I decided to start a topic of movies that we are looking foward to next year.

My list for 2016 is huge:

- Batman v Superman;
- Deadpool;
- Cap 3: Civil War;
- Suicide Squad;
- Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows;

I know there are a couple of others, but so far these are the big ones.

Sorry, had to update the title to reflect Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Tarzan gets top billing but no Wars?

2016 is looking pretty good, 2015 had some duds but has overall been pretty great.

Will Carrier Fisher return for the next Star Wars film? Also, does anyone else think Han Solo will somehow be resurrected?

Carrie will return. Harrison might appear in a force enduced flashback or hologram recording.

Civil War looks laughably cheesy in the trailers. I think you need more than 5 people on each side to be considered a war.

Ah yes. The holograms. I've heard sources say that Leonardo De Caprio turned down a role for acting as Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker. I suppose that means the role will be changed to some other actor. Can't hardly wait for the next movie.

No no, Leo turned it down in 2002 for the prequels. I think he was in that "I only do art films" state of his career.

And that "I only do art films" state brought him no Oscar., even until now..

Here's the trailer for Laika's next movie, Kubo and the Two Strings. Just saw it the first time yesterday when I saw TFA again:

Am I the only one who things Leo is overrated anyway? I mean, the oscars are a joke anyway, but whenever I see Leo in films he's usually playing the exact same role.

As for Ford in the next Star Wars film, I do suspect Kylo Ren will have some sort of remorse flash back as he continues to resist the light side of the force. Don't know about any of you, but I suspect that Snork is actually really weak and is going to use Kylo to sort of body swap.

Potential spoiler, but remember that story Palpatine told Anakin about a sith lord so powerful he could stop death? I wonder if this Snork is him and body swapping his how he does it.

I love Leo. Catch Me If You Can was fantastic, he deserved best actor for that one.

Given the recent cast announcements, Star Wars Episode VIII will not have Harrison or Mayhew returning. Han is dead and Chewbacca will have his stand in actor from Ep VII filling in full time.

He is is good, but there seems to be this thing about him where he's considered incredible, despite only really doing certain roles.

I can see why they didn't due to his condition, but when "it" happened, we really needed a moment with Chewie to go crazy. I hope with someone more able, we get that in episode 8 as bottled up anger.
