NFTs do have money potential, thing is though it's still a scam. It's the equivilent of The Emperor's New Clothes. The conmen/tailours convinced the king that the clothes are made of some special fabric and the king is too embarrased to admit (or stupid to realise) there is nothing there. So he spends a lot of money on something he was told was super-valuble when really it was nothing.

Ken Penders just wants to scam us.

Well, not just Ken Penders then, but also Konami, Capcom, and SquareEnix.

It's dissapointing those gaming companies are falling for it. I hope Sega won't stoop so low.

Yep, so far it's still safe...

"About that Sega NFT trademark, it looks like it was filed in December, before they made that statement about avoiding NFTs.
The January 14 date was just a release date, and since today is January 14 in Japan, it's possible that the Sega NFTs were scrapped.."

that's good to hear. I understand why NFTs may look like an aatractive business venture to other gaming companies and studios but it really is buying nothing with crypto currency.
Like, I sort of understand that buying AC Tickets on PSO2 and Red Rings on Sonic mobile games is buying digital content that will remain yours as long as the servers run, therefore you don't really own your purchase. But at least AC-products in PSO2 are straight forward about it than NFT crap.

Still, that could be a temporary decision.
If many other publishers made money from it, they'll soon join too.

Even Nintendo’s now interested in NFTs too : ‘We feel the potential in this area’

Of course Nintendo would go low and greedy for NFTs.
