Sorry to be that guy, but is the gameplay any good?

Fanservice to me means nothing if the gameplay isn't great.
Big fan of Claymore, Miria in particular.

Probably not as much in the West. At first I thought the game wasn't coming out due to certain JP titles being published by another company than the other, Sakura Wars So Long My Love is an example, but since this game is coming out in the West anyway I guess it doesn't really matter anymore.

I'm just happy to see these franchises represented in a awesome way.

Is this game an RPG or a fighting game? I've sorta been paying attention to it, but it confuses me. It's got the aesthetic and title of a fighting game, but I think I've read somewhere before that it's an RPG? Also, what kind of RPG is it, err, if it is an RPG?

It's SRPG with some fighting game elements. From what I've heard it plays a bit like Super Robot Taisen.
