According to leaked Famitsu numbers, End of Eternity has crossed over 200,000 units combined between the two versions. The Playstation 3 one sold 166,000 whilst the Xbox360 version sold 37,000. Currently it's 12th in the Japanese charts.
Valkyria Chronicles seems to be doing pretty good.
Didn't know SEGA Superstars tennis was still selling. That means All-Stars Racing will probably sell well.
It looks like it'll make it to about 200,000, which is about what the Star Ocean 4 managed, isn't it? And I'm sure they get more lucrative terms from Sega than Square Enix.

Wow. I was definitely not expecting Aliens v Predator to sell anywhere near that well. Maybe about half that. I was personally expecting a debut closer to about 95,000 on the X360 and about 65,000 on the PS3. So, kudos to Sega.

Buying them out would probably be a waste of money. Have they even made a solid game since the Jaguar days? And they don't, to my knowledge, even own any significant IPs. They don't own AvP do they?
As for the Platinum games sales figures, at least they're doing better than they were with Capcom.
It just wouldn't be worth it. That's a company they should just remain friends with and support, without actually getting their hands too deep in the pie. There are more competent studios out there. Gearbox or Headstrong would be a better purchase, at least in my opinion.

Well, I think Rebellion need to prove themselves again... I'm still not sold they are a worthy buy after AvP. A good game but it wasnt amazing in any resepct and it did feel a bit dated.Neither was Secret Level but that didn't stop them. Anyway no one saying its going to happen just that it could happen.

SASASR seems to be doing very badly considering it's a Sonic game and got good reviews.
I don't know how accurate they are, but VGChartz says that the 360 version of the game sold only 4,132 copies and 5,321 copies in the US and Europe respectively last week.

I expected the ame to at least reach no.1 on the Wii chart for a week or so. It's the best Wii game since Mario Galaxy 2... To make it seem worse Sonic Free Riders made the individual format sales chart at no.38! A spin off beat the flagship game. Lets hope the COD/Kinect hysteria took the limelight away and this one is a slow burner sales wise. Will be interesting to get the rest of the EU and US.

Sonic is not a series known for frontloaded sales.
Also Japan does not care at all about Sonic, even during the Mega Drive era.
It used to be in the Mega Drive days , and Sonic Adv was an amazing seller in Japan, given it was a Sonic game.
Hope the poor the sales make Sonic team port this to the 360 and PS3, which it should have been in the 1st place . SEGA really need to wake up to the fact that its Major IP needs to be Multi Platform form the very start

Oh man...The game was lacking in content so those low sales are understandable, 6 hours Campaign, almost no unlockables, and no MP.
I'm pretty sure Multiplayer would have helped the game greatly.
This was supposed to be a game appealing to the west, yet it sold lot less than Bayonetta which was Japanese through and through :P

It's not yet official, just a rumor, but seems that Sega has already shipped 400,000 units of PHANTASY STAR PORTABLE 2 INFINITY.

Electronic Arts was comfortably the UK’s top physical games publisher of 2012.
The firm enjoyed a successful year thanks to record-breaking sales of FIFA 13, which sold through 2m units two weeks faster than its predecessor.
Other games that helped propel the publisher to the top of the rankings included Mass Effect 3, Need for Speed: Most Wanted and continued sales of Battlefield 3 and FIFA 12.
Activision reclaimed second place from Ubisoft. The Call of Duty firm enjoyed a better share of sales thanks in part to Skylanders, which was a significant seller during the first half of 2012.
Ubisoft comfortably held third place, while the next highest charting third party publisher was Sega at No.6. The Japanese firm benefitted from its collaboration with the London 2012 Olympics.

Well, I haven't done one of these in a while.
In the TOP 40 all-format charts, once again, Sonic games and crossovers with Mario sell. A lot.
Sonic Generations still moves, even 4 months after it's release. When Sonic and Mario play around, Nintendo and SEGA make a lot of cash.
Kinect Star Wars as number two is making me cry.
Rise of Nightmares is still somewhere in the Xbox 360 Bargain chart. Sonic Generations for PS3 is moving like crazy, as a budget price. And so does HOTD Overkill in 3D.
The Wii charts are disturbing. Sonic Colors is still selling there. And a bunch of other titles.
The 3DS barely has a trackable chart and as such, only Sonic Generations and Mario & Sonic keep it afloat.

Total War: Rome II would have been the UK’s real No.1 last week, if we counted digital sales, MCV can reveal.
The strategy game was No.2 in the UK retail charts with over 32,000 units sold, narrowly missing out on the No.1 spot by just 200 copies.
Yet if you factor in UK digital sales of 73,000, and the game would not only have comfortably been top of the charts, but it would have been one of the biggest single format launches of the year, with 105,00 games sold.
This is further evidence of the growing importance of including digital data in the weekly charts.
Despite the popularity of Total War as a digital download, Sega’s digital VP John Clark insists retail has nothing to fear.
He told MCV that the launch sales of Rome II at retail were 4,000 higher than they were for the original title.
“It’s an incredible number and the biggest, most significant number we’ve seen,” said Clark.
“Based on other stats that we’re looking at it also shows that this isn’t a digital shift – we’re now adding consumers.”
Not bad considering Sonic Lost World and Virtua Tennis 4 are on Wii U and Vita.

Though it may not be bad, it saddens me how less relevant sonic seems to become with the comparison to NGC era. Still waiting for that one(score 9) game to win everyone over through great reviews and overall reception.

I just feel like SEGA is ruining their brand and they may not have any iconic IP's to sell anymore if they keep it up like this we'll only see great investments (like creative assembly and relic) making them money.

Personally I think Sonic's appearance in the chart dispel the notion that Sonic is "dead" as people were mentioning with Lost World's poor sales. To me it is right down to the fact that the title was released on a struggling platform. If it was released multi-platform as it should have been, I am sure even with how poorly made it is the game would have enjoyed significantly higher sales.

I dunno, Siliconera was pretty down on PSNova's performance in the Media Create article they wrote for this week and I have to agree with them. Sega and tri-Ace had to have been hoping for more.
Typically 100k for a well-established JRPG would be a pretty great debut but have to wonder why it performed as it did. Is there truth to the apparent consensus that the demo wasn't received too well (though Sega and tri-Ace made great efforts to change the gameplay experience)? does the exaggerated platform health kind of distort the real viability of PS on portables (that is, did the Monster Hunter and PSP boom wear off by now, or is the Vita that toxic?)

Well for starters, the Shining series can't decide what the hell kind of genre it wants to be. That alone alienates players.
If you're a Football Manager fan who's been pining for some in-depth stat juggling on the go, then this is going to scratch that itch. And then some.
There's so much to do here, and while it's only available on tablets it's the closest we've got yet to the full FM experience on mobile.
In truth, half of this chart could have been filled by M2's outstanding 3D treatments of classic Sega games.
But that wouldn't really be fair on anyone else, so we restricted ourselves to one.

App data insights and analytics company App Annie reports that Sakura Revolution was the most downloaded game on Japan’s Google Play Store in December 2020.
Per the agency, the title saw more downloads than Punishing: Grey Raven (Hero Entertainment), Among Us! (InnerSloth), and Roof Rails (Voodoo) during the period.
App Annie also reports that the title did not break into the top-10 highest grossing Android titles for the month.

Ahead of its launch this week, Persona 5 Strikers has managed to steal a spot on the top selling games for Steam, on PC.
The Persona 5 spinoff, developed by both Atlus’ internal P-Studio and Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force studio, managed to nab the 10th spot in Steam’s current top ten best-selling games (https://steamdb.info/topsellers/2021W07/).
Following its Western release on February 23, 2021, Persona 5 Strikers debuted at a strong 3rd overall position in terms of dollar sales (and not units sold), while it was the 3rd best selling game solely on PlayStation platforms.
This places Persona 5 Strikers as the ninth best selling game in the U.S. for the year of 2021 so far.
Metacritic has released their list of the publishers with the highest average metascore for games released in 2020, and it comes at no surprise that SEGA is NUMBER ONE.

The Dragon Engine development team from Sega’s Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio won the Excellency Award for Engineering.
It developed and shared an integrated QA (Quality Assurance) support system by combining automation and project management tools.
The team used screenshots from Yakuza: Like a Dragon in its presentation slide for the awards.
The games have generated cumulative sales of 100 billion yen (about $911 million) worldwide.
Registered users have passed 9 million (6.5 million in Japan and 2.5 million overseas), and the release of New Genesis achieved the largest number of monthly active users ever for the game both in Japan and overseas in June 2021.
Moving on to Sega’s overall results, net sales were ¥59,447 million (+22.9% year-on-year), while operating income was ¥3,844 million, which basically reverts the previous year’s result which was an operating loss.

Alongside a Persona series 25th anniversary sale which will be ending tomorrow in Japan, Atlus has announced the latest sales milestone for Persona 5 Strikers, with over 350,000 copies of the game sold in Japan (including digital copies sold).
In February 2020, Persona 5 Strikers had debuted in Japan with 162k copies sold, topping the sales charts.
After the successful February 2021 launch of P5S in the West, it was announced that 1.3 million copies of the game had been sold worldwide as of April 2021.

During the the 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim 2nd Anniversary Celebration Live Stream, it was announced that the game has surpassed 500,000 copies sold worldwide.

Shin Megami Tensei V is one of 2021's richest RPGs. Taking a cue from Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it largely shuns dungeons for a more open-world approach, giving it a refreshing and modern feel without sacrificing its depth.

We heard yesterday that Japanese sales tracker Famitsu announced that Shin Megami Tensei V has shifted 800,000+ copies worldwide, which means that it has already surpassed Shin Megami Tensei IV’s lifetime sales.
Here’s what SEGA has told investors: “At this point, the marketing of each title has been very successful and the sales status of “Shin Megami Tensei V”, which was just released recently has been quite good.”
The success on PC was underpinned in the document by Sega’s growth strategy for the Yakuza franchise, which included a global roll-out of titles and multiplatform/multilingual support for each.

COMIC ZIN’s list features a number of new releases that may be unfamiliar to you for the week between February 21 to February 27, but not for Number 3’s Isekai Ojisan Volume 7 which is a fairly popular title in Japan.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was Number One at the box office in the United States over the weekend for the second week in a row with $61 Million for $291.8 Million.
The Bad Guys was Second for the second week in a row at the box office with $7 Million.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was Third for the second week in a row at the United States box office with $4.6 Million for $175.8 Million so far. Worldwide, the film has made $338.4 Million.
This is, notably, the last weekend before Sonic 2 hits Paramount+ and Epix broadcast channals, so this may be the last major box office jump we’ll be getting until its Japanese release this summer.
At $375 million, Sonic 2 is now just $25 million away from $400 million. Can it reach it? Maybe. Not everyone has Paramount Plus, and if Sonic 2 can continue to make a few million in the US and a few million over seas every week for another month, that will add up.
The big wild card, of course, is Japan.

Total War: Warhammer III is an excellent addition to the series and forms a great conclusion to the epic Warhammer trilogy.
It has intriguing mechanics and gorgeous visuals, and it comes with a great variety of units, factions, and heroes, along with plenty of engaging battles.
Total SEGA CORPORATION mobile app revenue in May 2022 was $26m, including $17m for iOS apps and $9m for Android apps.
Total mobile app downloads for SEGA CORPORATION was 22m, including 3m iOS app downloads and 19m Android app downloads.
SEGA CORPORATION has a total of 520 apps (inactive apps included), including 288 iOS apps, and 232 Android apps.
Their top grossing app last month was Project Sekai Colorful Stage feat. Hatsune Miku (JP) and their most downloaded app was Sonic Forces.
I do suspect this will be Sonic 2’s penultimate box office article until its Japan release later this summer.
Here’s hoping we’ll get to end things by reporting that it’s surpassed $400 million!

Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment’s Sonic the Hedgehog 2 moved up to No. 1 on the U.K’s Official Film Chart on digital sales only.
After being nipped for the top spot last week, the sequel co-starring Jim Carrey, moved past last week’s chart-topper The Batman from Warner Bros. Pictures.
The caped crusader didn’t fall far, landing at the No. 2 spot, thanks to sales on physical formats, including DVD, Blu-ray Disc and 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc.
In the licensing business, goods commemorating the 35th anniversary since the company was established were launched in June 2021, and received favorable reviews.
Atlus concludes that it believes its mission is to continue to develop games that will please its customers, and continue to contribute to the Group’s performance.
