The quest to defeat the mysterious Baron of Battlers, the mysterious K, is on.
In order to get to this grotesque gladiator, however, you need to fight your way through 11 matches with the most skilled, most deadly of all combatants in the world of physical contact.

That's also mean a success in another way.
Success is when you find people are copying you.
People always copy from the best one, means SEGA used to be the best.
I guess, but Virtua Fighter isn't as popular as Tekken or Dead or Alive despite the fact Virtua fighter pioneered the fighting genre the successful games use.

Arcade aside, Playstation is more well known than Saturn afterall.
May be VF would be more succesful if it's started on Playstation console.
In term of visibility of course, the lack of proper sequel after VF5 is still SEGA's fault.

"Two-ninety-nine" was indeed a killer line.

Saturn was rushed because 32X failed badly.
32X was SEGA attempt to move from 16-bit market since 16-bit market isn't profiting anymore since 1995.

In 1995, Sega of America published about 20 games on the Genesis, around the same number that it published in the peak year of 1993.
These included Comix Zone, Phantasy Star IV, and Vectorman, and Vectorman in particular received a huge marketing campaign.
Despite still selling a decent number of now budget-priced Genesis consoles, the games were just not selling.

1995’s almost like a return of the 1982 "Atari Shock" for SEGA, Nintendo, Capcom, Konami, etc
1996 was a final battle, like the quote of Phantasy Star IV.

Still despite it's poor market the Sega Saturn was still a decent console given it allowed to play arcade favorites at home.

Yes, especially 2D VS fighting game.
Almost of them were arcade perfect while Playstation version usually suffered lost of many frames,
or worse, changing the gameplay to solve the memory issue.

Arcade and Saturn version of X-Men vs Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter is Tag-Team 2  vs 2 fighting,
while Playstation version become 1 vs 1 fighting.
It strips out its best features (tag-team battles) and extends the the one-round battles to a two-out-of-three round setup.
The long loading between matches didn't help either.

I probably only have tried 30% of those exclusive games, lol, on rental.
I was mostly arcade gamers back then so the one that caught my attention always port from arcade.
But I remember I was blown away with Magic Knight Rayearth's beautiful 2D graphic.

Yeah for a console made to compete to the 3D market, it still had good 2D games.

Illustration of Uncle (From Another World) with characters from Guardian Heroes.
(Uncle is a huge fan of this game).

As far as I remember, there are no console or SEGA games that he hates ... other than those visual novel games port form PC.
If the console has SEGA games, he'll try it.
