Title: 8.8 Earthquake strikes Chile

Although not as devastating as Haiti, the powerful earthquake has triggered a tsunami, threatening to sweep away several isolated islands, such as Guam, Fiji, New Zealand, Hawaii and Australia (but it didn't caused major damage): http://http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/quake_tsunami

Good, don't know were else I'd dip the chips.

In serious note, where are all the celebrities being outraged? Oh, this is not a trend yet :/ , doesn't sound as cool as Haiti.

I'm sorry, I'm having trouble figuring out the comical aspects of this news?

And that's cause it hasn't killed nearly as much people as the one in Haiti, George.

I hate to be an idiot, but at first glance I misread this thread as an IGN review score.

Why was my post deleted?

If I want to say Haiti has bad infrastructure compared to Chile, then I can. That is the blunt truth. I was forced to give these idiots a million dollars of local money without being asked and they wasted all of it, despite the fact that I can find homeless and elderly people starving/freezing to death here. Stop treating these parasitical idiots who hog all of the 'disaster attention' to themselves like Gods when other people equally deserve attention - which is clearly the case for Chile, as it is mostly being ignored in comparison despite being just as bad.

Or maybe you should make a sticky announcement that this site is run by sensitive little girls instead? It is starting to seem like a mixture between SEGA.com forums and Sonic Stadium (eg: toddlers and Bentley Jones fans only). I guess you need to suck up to get those SEGA banana shirt contests.

I think there's a difference between being homeless for a random natural disaster and for sucking at life.

The Haiti one had much more damage done because of lousy/nonexistant infrastructures and overall awful constructions.

Not when you live in Haiti.

And really, making fun of the inability of seniors to be able to construct things? I thought it was 'not funny' to you ?

Yes, exactly. They are stupid. They have more resources than others from excessive donations, yet they still suck. But despite that, responsible people (in comparison) get less charity/attention. It is a waste of resources. Either no one should get relief or it should be given fairly.

I wasn't making fun of the seniors.. In this society for someone to live on the street they have to (1) not be able to get a job (any job) and (2) not have any friends. That's what I meant.

And you live in a country that lets the elderly to die on the streets? That just sounds wrong.

But before the disaster they didn't have the donations.
I do think that investing in that country is throwing money away. But they needed help. We can't just leave them to die.

No it's not a lot for us, but considering that you need to alter the rotation of the entire planet to change a day's length even by fractions of a millisecond... that really puts things into perspective.
