They are extremely lenient rules though. He did not explain that the level caps only come into play when you spend over an hour doing nothing but power leveling. IMO it was an extremely good choice so now the players cannot do the most boring form of cheating in the world, at least not a lot of it.

But like the whole point of a role playing game is to have a high enough level to be able to beat the boss, tactics do come into consideration but often or not, it's how high your level is, so capping it just seems rather silly.

It be one thing if a level 5 character could stop the final boss, but since the genre is completely dependent on leveling up your character, to impose such restrictions seems out of place, they should have just made an adventure game.

I would have preferred it being an adventure game probably, but you do not know all of the mechanics of the game. You do not just level up your characters, you upgrade your weapons, rings, skills, vehicles... There are tons of stuff that you do not know about the game. I would say half of the time of playing the game I was in the menus tweaking the characters and stuff. I can understand this is not for everyone, but saying it goes against the whole concept of the genre is a bit weird.

I mean, do you think the Spirit system in Skies of Arcadia goes against the fundamentals of the genre? I mean, you can do an infinite amount of special attacks without losing anything outside of battle, heal everyone or regain all of your MP back, stuff like that. Wasn't the whole point of using special abilities in RPGs was to save them until you needed them most and not be able to use them constantly in every battle?

Well fuck you, the Spirit system is awesome!

[spoiler:83pyalh8]I would have preferred if both were adventure games[/spoiler:83pyalh8]

Why do you say things like this?

Surely you liked the Ship to Ship battles at least! I can understand not liking the other battles all that much though, even though I thought a lot of those battles were very good too.

Aaaaaaaaaaaanyway, I just got TVC on Wii, FUCKING AWESOME GAME. Really fun fighter, and Frank West is legendary!

Has anyone played Walk It Out on the Wii?
Just watched the CGR review, it looks pretty addictive.

Still plugging away at Final Fantasy V.
I've only got 4 dungeons to go I think.  It's mostly just that "get all the most powerful weapons and spells" part of the game.
Gotta beat Odin, so I can have a summon that I'll never use.

I started playing Sonic Unleashed again. I already beat the game earlier last year but I never completed all the hot dog runs and I want to kill this game good.

I already finished a few levels I remember having tons of trouble with, which caused me to put the game down in the first place. I guess I just needed some cool off time.

I played through Sonic Unleashed for the PS2 back in '08, and after buying a 360 I started the next (or is it current) gen version. The 360 day levels were beautiful and loads of fun, the first 3-4 night levels were better than treasure hunting or fishing. But once I reached Empire City night I threw the controller down after 2 wasted hours of lame pitfalls and overpowered enemies. I revisited the game last month and beat Empire City night and was rewarded with Empire City day! :D Then Adabat night followed and I put the game down again...

Anyway, I'm playing Trials HD: BIG PACK.

It was the walking on pipes bit as the werehog that pissed me off the most.

all it took to fix most of the werehog platforming was putting a shadow underneath the were hog.
Instead they put one ups right by the pipes.
