I hope so. I'm used to the Final Fantasy games. I hope they won't be that different.

They are, except Phantasy Star I.
Phantasy Star II, III, IV are like Final Fantasy & Dragon Quest
but Phantasy Star I is like Shining in The Darkness.

Still same gameplay though,
turned based RPG.
The difference is in the dungeon exploring.

I hope I get to play the quadrilogy someday.

Still we should probably talk about ninjas or something. I shouldn't keep derailing threads like this.

Ah.. okay... Talking about Ninja, I'll bring a trivia :

SEGA's first protagonist Ninja character isn't Joe Musashi
It's Kurumi from Ninja Princess (Arcade, SG-1000, MSX, Saturn, Mobile)

Indeed, since her name was only Kurumi, may be they could name her Kurumi Musashi?
Or if not, make her meet and marry a guy from Musashi clan,

Also another trivia : her latest appearance was on Nintendo Switch.
As a score girl in SEGA AGES Columns II: A Voyage Through Time.

Damn, she was demoted. But if they ever make a new Shinobi game they should introduce her to the fold.

For example, I always imagine Joe Musashi half-japanese. His mother could be Kurumi Musashi who married an American and why their son has an American sounding name. Joe could struggle being half-american in the Oboro clan but eventually became the best ninja they had.

Just like Alex Kidd. Demoted too in SEGAGAGA.

Kinda hard now to change Joe's father since Shinobi 3DS was already starring his father, Jiro Musashi.

Setting up his mother is more likely.
How about Sarah Krieger as his mother?
It would make Joe Musashi as a half-japanese too.

Yeah but Alex Kidd is finally back...

Though whenever the rest of his games will be remade or if he will get new games is yet to be decided.

It's actually started as a fan game but somehow when the developer showed it to SEGA,
to their surprises SEGA gave them a blessing to make it an official game.

There is an interview about it here but it got removed :
https://acertainkindofgamer.com/2018/06/19/remake-alex-kidd-in-miracle-world-an-interview-with-the-devs-narehop-josyanf1/
But I believe it was still archived somewhere.

Whoops.. this thread's started to derail again to Alex Kidd now (before were to Virtua Fighter and Phantasy Star, lol)
Okay, as for Shinobi, I don't think there's Shinobi fan game that's outstanding enough to get SEGA's blessing.

Well, maybe there will be an Alex Kidd in Shinobi World remake? Though is there any confirmation of future Alex Kidd games?

Not yet for now. Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX Review is kinda mixed.
While the new graphic and the new music are great,
the transitioning between modern mode and classic mode isn't as smooth as Wonder Boy: Dragon's Trap.
Classic mode is kinda different with the original game which made gamers who memorized the original game kinda unhappy.
I still don't know whether this game sold well enough to guarantee a new entry or not.

Well, Sega's rather do or die when it comes to this. Alex Kidd really needs this revival, but if the numbers are not high enough... it's dead to them.

Indeed.. Numbers is what the higher up sees..
I'm still bitter at how a game as perfect as Rhythm Thief never get another chance again

I agree with Ben in this article :

SOme of Sega's business practices are unfair to it's own franchises.

Not just SEGA though. Other game companies too.
For example : Sony.
