Japan creates Magazine for boys who dress like girls

New Japanese comic publication  "WAaI! boys in skirts" is hoping to capitalize on the video game, anime  and cosplay trend of young men dressing up like young women. Even one professional  fighter is into it!
The first issue will introduce  anime that feature characters in drag as well as video games like Atchi Muite Koi  (NSFW) and Cross Days, which features a cross-dressing protagonist. (The  game also features a most not-safe-for-work  peripheral.)
If that wasn't enough, the  publication's debut issue will also be bundled with schoolgirl athletic  shorts in a "large" size. Large enough for a man, but good enough for a  woman. Or something. Well, nobody's  perfect!
For gamers, Bridget from Guilty Gear is one of the most famous male  characters dressed up as a female. Some gamers don't even know that  she's a he!
Last spring, a gaming cafe-slash-dinner bar called "NEWTYPE" opened in Akihabara — with the  term "new type" coming from Gundam and referring to a newtype of human  evolution. According to website Akibanana, the staff is  made up of otoko no musume ("male daughters"). On week nights,  NEWTYPE holds multi-player PSP gaming sessions and even has loaner  copies for PSP-less customers.
WAaI! boys in skirts vol. 1 goes on  sale April 24, priced at ¥1,200 (US$13).

I'll be hitting a Japanese book store in NYC next week, so I'll be on the lookout for "WAaI! girls with heaving breasts and guns on their shoes"

There have been magazines like this in Japan for years and years. This is not news, we already knew the place was like this.

What you did not post is just how fucking creepy it is. Most of the male cosplayers get masks of the girl characters they want to be (similar to hard plastic Halloween masks we all know of) and spandex under the costume to make them seem petite and do poses and stuff in front of a camera for hours without saying anything. It is really, really unsettling.

Also, Shadi. Do you ever post any of your thoughts in any thread you ever made outside of "lol" or that image of Reggie? Why post so much but never give any of your opinions?

You forgot that he talks about how he hates Nintendoz.

Anyway outside of lol, reggie and nintendoz hate, shadi does not think.  For when he is not posting this:  he is getting bummed.   hard.

I could picture a coffee table book with that theme. Space Channel 5, Bayonetta, Code Veronica, Streets of Rage. Probably no Nintendo games unless we're talkin' Metroid. Zelda and Peach are not hot.
