I remember playing Exhumed as a kid. Never played a FPS like it, mostly because I didn't know it was also regarded as a "Metrovania" sort of game.

Still the best FPS ever made
Panzer Dragoon Zwei is
One of the best 3D shooting games available
Presented for your pleasure

For Saturn or PC?
Isn't there already official one for PC?

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1678430/PowerSlave_Exhumed/

Since this remake was from Saturn version (combined with Playstation version), this was designed for a Saturn controller in mind, not with a mouse and keyboard so i understand if fan want to change it more mouse-friendly.
Maybe it was the PC one I'm thinking off.
Still the best FPS ever made
I probably won't go that far. Some may choose Doom or Wolfenstein or Half-Life as best FPS. I don't play enough FPS to have a fair opinion on the matter. I just have some nostalgia for the game.

Like when the lid of the sarcophagus rises and you talk to the pharaohs head, when the pharaoh is done talking with you and you're quick enough you can jump into the sarcophagus before the lid goes down and get stuck in their. It's not progressive or any secrets or anything,. just a stupid little exploit I found.

Doubt that exploit is in the remakes.

Best is relative.
Best depended on who.
If we are talking about Saturn version and uses GamePro Magazine's score, Exhumed / Powerslave was indeed the best one.
It got perfect score.
Other magazines could give other results though

Exhumed / PowerSlave

Graphic : 5 of 5
Sound : 5 of 5
Control : 5 of 5
Fun Factor : 5 of 5

Doom

Graphic : 3 of 5
Sound : 4 of 5
Control : 2.5 of 5
Fun Factor : 3.5 of 5

Duke Nukem 3D

Graphic : 4 of 5
Sound : 4.5 of 5
Control : 4.5 of 5
Fun Factor : 5 of 5

Quake

Graphic : 3.5 of 5
Sound : 4 of 5
Control : 3.5 of 5
Fun Factor : 3 of 5

Alien Trilogy

Graphic : 3.5 of 5
Sound : 4.5 of 5
Control : 4 of 5
Fun Factor : 4 of 5

For me I prefer Wolfenstein 3D due to memories of playing them with my friends on PC,
but that game wasn't released on Saturn (not counting homebrew).

I didn't know Exhumed was that popular. I wonder why fans don't talk about it or bring it up as often as the other games mentioned on your post?

Because unlike Doom or Duke Nukem, it never got any sequel.
Exhumed / Powerslave's just one time wonder, like Ristar or Skies of Arcadia.

I see. Save for remakes though given both Exhumed and Skies of Arcadia were remade.

Yeah, but Exhumed remake was happened not so long ago while Skies of Arcadia has been happened in Game Cube era.
In term of visibility Ristar got it best though since it's continually showing up every time there's a Genesis / Mega Drive compilation / collection.
It also has a free mobile game version.

Treasure Turns 30: Three Decades of Subverting Genres

Quote
Treasure might have made games for the hardcore devotee, but in actuality, their games are playable by anyone.
All that’s needed is the patience to learn the systems that differ so much from what many gamers were used to in more traditional takes on the genres Treasure was tackling.
Radiant Silvergun begins as a very difficult, very complicated game: give it the time it deserves, however, and the systems not only make sense, but reveal themselves to be both elegant and rewarding.

SEGA's Virtua Racing - Battle of the Home Ports!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdFuZ8j7ZMo

Quote
Virtua Racing was Sega's first foray into 3D graphics, following over a decade's worth of pseudo-3D offerings (starting with Turbo) with 2D sprites scaling in real time.
Almost everything in Virtua Racing is rendered with flat-shaded quadrilateral polygons, which means track designs are more complex than in prior Sega racers.
The physics model, however, is not dissimilar to earlier games such as Power Drift - it is impossible to destroy your car, and the only penalty for driving off-road is a significant speed decrease.

The people behind the game still loved it though.
Almost all Phantasy Star Online games had at least one Burning Rangers event.

I can't recall if I ever played Burning Rangers, I don't think so. I do like the idea of fire fighting with water physics and fire effects.

Though I find it hard to believe it's set in a world where most crisis are prevented and resolves... unless it's fire related.

So they manage to resolve peace in the middle east and end all known wars but still forget to turn off the stove now and again?

Could be. Sometimes the great accident wasn't happened because of great catastrophe or fatal error, but from little things that people tend to ignore or forget.

Yeah like leaving the stove on.
