Sound programmer Akira Saito, 43, whose work has been featured in the Sega 3D Classics series among others, has passed away due to cancer. I appreciate his dedication to his craft, and I also appreciate the series of interviews that have gone into detail about the 3D Classics series, through which I learned of his work and that of his colleagues.

R.I.P

This is very depressing. We keep losing very talented people so fast. May he rest in peace.

M2 is the studio that brought SEGA into becoming Metacritic's Publisher of the year (2015).
He should be proud of that.

This is true. The also make the 3d feature most relevant even moreso than nintendo.

Very unfortunate. M2 should be proud with the work he did, they are among the best at porting stuff.
