Turnabout Poker Face
« on: January 06, 2011, 08:54:22 am »
Okay I was selling my research proposal to the university it is on Mastication (chewing) and Mathematical Performance, so I am giving this presentation in front of 100 psychologists, including the Director of IPP and while reading of my slide, Method & Procedure section.

Quote
Sugar Free Chewing Gum
20 Basic Math Questions
Demographic Information
Musical Preferences

I had used a friends report as an outline, and written my report over it. She was doing some research on musical preferences and cognitive functioning and I forgot to erase her part.

Now I am on stage and I am like what the fuck is that doing their, as soon as I read it I was questioned why I would want musical preferences, and I said.

'Why Not?'

They can be quite instrumental in understanding personality archetypes.

No one could see through my lie, it was epic.

I'm a psychologist.

My Research Proposal was:
It is hypothesized that there would be difference between the scores of the group that was masticating than the group who were not masticating while performing basic mathematical tasks.

Basically I am testing whether chewing bubble gum can increase mathematical performance or not.

I had copied my method and procedure (material & apparatus setion) off a friend who was doing something related to Musical Preferences, in my presentation I accidentally left a mention of musical preferences.

When asked why I am looking into musical preferences, I answered "Why Not? It is a useful tool to guagin an idea of one's personality."

Is it gay that I never knew anything about Lady Gaga until I heard she might have a dick and then I read up a lot on her?

Cube especially must know. Use your chewing gum research to figure it out. Not Fruitstripe though, that shit dissolves.

Yes, it will be sugar free other wise it will have the glucose effect and ruin the experiment.

I may actually get to go on tv, and sell my research proposal for sponsors. I was informed today, my presentation was the best off the lot. I'll be presenting it at ICP (Institute of Clinical Psychology) on Wednesday.

Funny thing is 'participants musical preferences' are now a permanent part of the research even though it has nothing to do with the hypothesis.
