They seem to be clearly going for a darker Spiderman, especially since this director has some background on dramas.

The Thing remake is... well... Odd. It seems like a much less gory, more psychological horror-focused  then the previous film. But that overgrown cockroach is kinda throwing me off.

Red Tails finally flies and it will be out early next year.

The production for this film has been anything but uncomplicated. Apparentely George Lucas was meant to only produce it and ended up directing a lot of scenes himself.

The WW2 aerial dogfights were one of the inspirations for GL in Star Wars, so he's sorta coming back home. Effects look great and all, but with the troubled production...

Really looking forward to Red Tails!

From what I've read, pre-production is the only thing that was really troubled, as it started in 1988 (!!!). However, once a cast and director were in place, things went smoothly. Effects look great, cast looks good and the director has a strong background (The Wire, True Blood, Heroes). I also love the logo.

Anthony Hemingway directed the film. During reshoots, he had to direct an HBO series so Lucas stepped in and directed the reshoots, which basically fill in the gaps and fix scenes from the original shoot. It's a relatively small process, so no fear of dueling directors.  I watched a web doc on the Revenge of the Sith reshoots, looked like Lucas loves that phase of filmmaking so it should turn out quite well.

I thought Spiderman was suppose to be a joke cracking teenager that whined a ton when life got hard. Now he seems like "DARK KNIGHT IN SPIDERMAN OUTFIT"

at least in the trailer.

Amazing Spider-Man reboot trailer:

Holy shit that looks worse than Spiderman 3. The new actor doesnt suit his role at all, from what I gather this is departing from the comicbook story and that CGI was absolutely shit.

Here's the first image of Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel:

Saw that! Looks interesting. Sort of like the texture of the Superman Returns costume (I assume it has hundreds of tiny S shields imprinted on it) combined with the logo of the originals. His hair looks a little odd, but whatever. Hope its a good movie and not a waste of time! They also cast Laurence Fishburne as Perry White. I'm cool with it, but I totally get why some people are not. I'd prefer somebody who looks like the comic character (a la J.J.J of Spider-Man), and the comic character just happens to be white. Doesn't make those against Fishburne racists, though that seems to be the backlash against those who don't want Fishburne.
