Ash has more color than Gears of War in its' entirety, don't be dissing my SOR son!

I'm not dissing SOR at all, just saying it wasn't a game noted for it's rainbow of colour and bright skies , and speaking of all things PS, the Mega Drive games were not really the most colourful of games either (especially for Phantasy Star IV )

i don't think the problem is with the colors, the game "from the pictures" needs better textures and details.(just look at the trees behind in the image above!)that what most people are complaining about at the moment.

The only thing that bothers me about the screenshots is how all the characters are bent backwards... doesn't seem right.. xP but other then that I think the game looks good.

well if it looks slightly better than old gen games in that term, then yes i care
not to mention that this game will carry on with updates at least for 4 years to come, and it looks already outdated (again this is based on the pictures revealed)

in the bright side, this note taken from the official site

※ The image is still under development.
so hopefully things will get better later on in development

I don't care if the game looks dated as long as it's fun. Dated graphics don't keep PSO from being fun. Besides, looks eons better then PSU.

The foliage really reminds me of the Hedgehog engine. The way the trees are lit up reminds me of it too.

lol, game looks fine. Having less demanding graphics just means more of us can play it.

I'm still quite convinced that whgen you see the game running in motion you'll find that the graphics are quite fine.

PSO when it first released wasn't outdated technically.
and i have to disagree with you, but graphics is also important and it plays a part in enjoying any game. "Eyes Entertainment" anyone?
i am not saying that i won't be enjoying the game unless it's super beautiful graphically, but something like that of course do effect the overall feeling.

here is some "better" images, you can't deny the foilage in these screens doesn't look like the foliage in PSO2. Everything from the structure to the lighting looks the same.

ANYWAYS, i had a question regarding PC parts for any of you techheads out there.

I need to build a new PC to run PSO2. But I have noticed that all mid end cards these days are double slotted power eaters. and I don't want one of those. So I was wondering if this card would be decent for PSO2 and other modern games. I won't be playing too many PC games, but it would be nice to have the option every once in a while

Foliage looks like foliage. It is not part of the engine, but textures. Are you suggesting they are sharing 'textures' and foliage most likely? I think the 'they look the same' could be the fact that they are the same "parent" team and probably share developers between teams.

Even if they look the same, it doesn't prove its the same engine. I could post pictures of other foliage from EA games and it all looks the same... its foliage after all.

The hedgehog engine was known for its lighting and nothing that I have seen in the PSO2 stuff suggest that it has great lighting.

@Shadi:
Just because a card is double slot, doesn't mean it has high power consumption, it only means that it has better cooling.

Anyway, about good mid-end graphics cards with relatively low power consumption, you can't go wrong with the Radeon HD5750, Radeon HD5770, or Radeon HD6850. These 3 only require one 6-pin pci-express power connector, with the HD5750 having a TDP of 86W, HD5770 having a TDP of 108W, and the HD6850 having a TDP of 127W.
