okay be honest.  Who here has even made it to tundra?  I'm level 17, stuck in the desert, with nothing to look forward to but the long, long grind ahead.  Who knew this would be such a slog??  I mean, how did anyone at sega think this was a grand idea?

I made it to level 40 and only experienced a slog while doing the quest to bump the level cap. Are you playing with other people, including randoms? That's always been what made the game for me.

Hmm I do play with people occasionally but mostly do solo.  I mean, I always leave my games unlocked but often no one will join.  (ship 10 block 20 btw).  How long do you think it took you to get to 40?  It could be that I just don't have the time to invest in this the same way I was able to in 8th grade with pso.

Admittedly, I probably have too much time in addition to never having trouble finding people to play with. I have about 140 hours on record since I started playing in Open Beta but it's tough to account for how much exactly that was spent playing and how much of it was spent lounging around using it to chat with friends or feed my mag. I've also been 40 for a while and don't know when exactly it was I reached that.

Still. Things speed up a lot when you play with other people. If you really need help, you can just cross your fingers and hope to get a +50% exp ticket from the FUN scratch and make use of it during an emergency event or somesuch.

Coming straight from pso1 and not ever(wanting to) experiencing psu, I think there is an issue in the party up system. My conclusion is that it's not only because of the variety of missions, which aren't alot really. It's also because the game's freedom offers people to play differently within a mission, so people don't join each other that quick like in PSO1, where it was always clear what the 1 goal was to everyone. Here everyone clashes so they have alot of reasons to not join each other sadly

One person likes to keep grinding, one person wants to rush, another is there just for a client order, another likes to explore and get to the end. I for example don't join neither the rush or grind games, which are the majority so I have to literally ask people at the lobby to join me and follow my lead, which has helped so far alot to boost my experience. Ezodagrom is always fun to play with too.

I do consider this kind of an issue so I hope they spice up the incentive to party up, and work so people do not clash. My idea was that when one starts a mission, you should be able to see some sort of cloud above the character in the lobby(or maybe something more subtle) and add a join option in the character quick menu. This would make it easier for people to wanna join someone, or for a player to get his party joined up.

Other than that, when I do get a good party, PSO2 seems like one of the best games i've played ever. Love the shit out of it. I just can't go back to pso1 anymore because of it.

I just defeated Big Vader (mines free field boss) for the first time today, so yeah, I already made it to the tundra. :>

Anyway, do client orders, they help alot in lvling up:

if you could actually read japanese there's an option for playing style when making a party like "just have fun" "serious play" "speed runs" etc

I've been level 40 for weeks, I've foud levelling far too easy, if you do the emergency events and interrupts in each mission it racks up in no time

So you're basically confirming how the game aknowledges people are not gonna have the same objectives within a certain mission. I've played a number of MMO's, but pso has always stood out the most because of how easy it was to find a party. It didn't matter what you did, everyone knew the objective and everyone was forced and encouraged to play as a team. But even if I find issue with this, i'm being realistic and aknowledge how things have been set on a conceptual level, so change in that particular system won't ever happen. But I do think it should be made more easy/accesable to find a party that shares your playstyle/interest. Hence my suggestion

what a surprise! well i hope to have motivated you to contimue on. I think i mentioned time attack mode didnt I? the game gets alot better once you hit lvl 30. the trick for me was to forget about rushing, forget about all the boring ways people play to achieve their goals quick because instead they made me wanna quit. ask ezo lol, i kept complaining about how awful i thought the free field experience with respawning enemies was. I only made piece with it after i found out the time attack mode, which is really just pso1 mode in disguise. untill lvl 30 you may want to find actual goals, by doing client orders. they are very rewarding.

it would be great to team up sometime, but im at ship2. :(
