I have some custom vinyl figures...
« on: September 19, 2011, 05:19:22 pm »
... and I need recommendations for what sort of SEGA characters I should turn them into. I picked them up at a crafts store for $1.50 each:

All but the frog shaped one can rotate their heads, giving the cube and triangle head some interesting opportunities for multiple faces.

Ideally I want to make a Jet Set Radio character or two, perhaps a badnik... a Shenmue character would be cool. Thoughts? Once completed I'll feature them in an article (assuming they turn out well enough).

Turning triangle head into a certain harbor legend who knows the best place to take a leak. Even made up a little image for his t-shirt:

HA! They actually had a cat shped one that would be perfect for that. I might be back at the store this weekend so I'll see if they have it.

Btw, Goro is looking hilarious. His puffy cheeks and angry eyes look great on a small scale.

First figure attempt: Goro of Shenmue fame. The ink appears darker in person, and the marker isn't as solid as I was hoping, but still a good first attempt. I want to go over his clothing one more time with marker, and then plan to cover him in a glossy protective finish. Also, I have yet to add his shirt decal , I want to paint some gritted teeth and need to clean up where his head meets his shoulders:

Cube-headed one: Cube from JSR/JSRF
Round-headed: Garam from JSRF

Frog shaped one is becoming a Noise Tank. : ) I just need to play some JSR to check out the character model some more. I don't remember what the side of their heads look like.

Thanks! He's getting his little shirt decal tonight. Then he'll take leak.
