S0L said in the NiGHTS fan site interview the since NiGHTS is a racer, they needed a new flying character to be flag man. I really think it'll be Opa Opa.

Personally, I would rather the Space Harrier be the flagman over Opa Opa, as I really loved playing as Opa Opa in the last game.

If not, then ah well...

I think Opa Opa is unlikely to return as a racer as his transformations would be really simple. So simple that compared to all other racers it would be very unimpressive. Don't get me wrong, I love Opa Opa! But just thinking from a developer perspective, I'd think Opa Opa might not make the cut as a racer. If thats the case, I'd love to see him at the start and finish of each and every race.

I guess that's true, but then again I don't think people would mind if Opa Opa's transformations are simple because its Opa Opa!

Leaving him out of the game wouldn't be a good idea considering its pretty much a significant part of SEGA's history.

Warning spoilers!
If they could show us the "Dark" Opa Opa, that'd be truly amazing!

There does seem to be a lack of modern era characters/tracks as well, which is a shame. I kind of fear that Valkyria Chronicles won't be in since SEGA seems to wants to keep it as a Japanese only franchise now. :(

I don't mind the track roster so far as it is definitely an improvement over the last games, although I think that the IPs that got a track in the last game should have taken a back seat so that the other IPs get a chance to shine (Super Monkey Ball, Jet Set Radio and Samba De Amigo; as great as the tracks are in this game, I think should have just stuck as the retro tracks).

No disrespect to anyone who loves them making an extra track for those specific IPs of course!

S0L's put an experiment thread up at the SEGA Forums, however...he's very strict on the rules, so please read them before you ask for the Chaotix or for more then one Sonic character.

Some members there have already broken those rules, so he may ditch the whole poll thing if they carry on!

Just a heads up guys!

It's an interesting idea, I just hope the SEGA fans there don't ruin it. :(

That picture of Fang the Sniper is pretty sweet.

@Nameless15 Kinda sucks that Sega would make VC a JP only IP and not represent them in their own All-Star crossover. I feel the same way about Sakura Wars.

I'm not 100% if the franchise is Japanese only just yet, but it seems to have shifted into that territory (kind of silly as Valkyria is based on Europe).

Yeah, that does suck as well, but I am sure they'll make up for the lack of VC, SW and the like.

I've noticed that S0L seems stressed in those forums judging by the Experiment thread. I can understand that most of the members aren't reading the rules (like customers don't read the Terms of Conditions), but it seems to be showing a little bit too much...I hope the development isn't getting to him or anything as the thread is kind of descending into chaos as soon as he made it. :( (I can understand how frustrating it is to tell 12 to 16 year olds to stick by the rules, but they are unfortunately kids who will only learn to stick by a set of rules later in their years)

S0L is a really cool guy and I'm glad he wants to see what the fan community thinks. (Even when they are being a bit unruly)

True true. He's just doing his best to try to please everyone as he and his team worked very hard on this game day and night. He has heart as a executive producer.  8)

Yeah, it's good to see an all, but I wonder if the community can really keep calm and not frustrate the developers when they are given the opportunity to actually get another character in the game?

I've pre-ordered mine via Tesco (ugh...the refusal to drop the price of my Vita still disgusts me to this day). Hopefully they actually send me the Limited Edition and not the standard one.

Prepare for the worst guys, S0L just said this at the SEGA Forums:

Quote from: S0L
So we'll never get super obscure, it'll very rarely be Japan only characters, or characters seen in game over 20 years old, or characters which are part of a supporting, supporting cast. Or characters which don't fit depending on the age rating. Some characters just don't fit into the bright happy cartoony style we aim for in a game that's meant for all ages, blood dripping off a chainsaw? Probably not.

Hmmm...does that mean Sakura Wars, Valkyria Chronicles, Streets of Rage and possibly Fighters MegaMix not being in the game now?

I didn't think MadWorld would get in. lol

I am disappoint that they'll be rarely any Japan-only characters in the game. Guess we'll probably never play as cool characters like Sakura and Segata.

The experiment has split into two and Silver and Fang/Back fans are going at it, mostly Silver fans. I voted for Nack sincewe haven't seen him in a good while after AM2's Sonic the Fighters and probably complete the Sonic Drift 2 cast. Then again it's just a experiment.

I still want Sakura Shinguji in the game either DLC or a Japanese release.

At least it's just an experiment, but I don't understand why would they vote for Silver when he's playable in other titles games since his debut.

Takashi Iizuka: You guys want to see Silver in a car? *laughter* no.

What I don't understand is how any part of sonic 06 could have attracted fans. Silver was introduced in that game so it's really blowing my mind. ANyway, I voted for fang as well.
