@batfax
You mean this? http://diehardgamefan.com/2008/09/19/dreamcast-segas-last-scream/
I was hooked when ADV Films released the anime OVAs and I actually have the entire series and beaten the first game just yesterday. This game has a really deep storyline and the strategy gameplay is similar to Shining Force without leveling up. Your team's strength increases when you earn trust points from them in Lips mode. One of the best Saturn SRPG games I have ever played in my life.

@Aki-at
Agreed. Japan always gets the good stuff.

Ok so that's 3 great news in a row!
Really great to hear about a japanese release!! The last few characters will have to really help promote that.
Ristar as flagman. Yea glad he is in the game. Saw it coming that he wasnt going to be playable. He is basically a black dot from behind. Pretty cool to have his appearance like that.
And a PC exclusice? **ck yeah!!

@kori and aki

If they really end up doing japanese exclusives with more than 1 character that would suck horribly and be unfair! I dont think Sumo would divide their product like that. At least it would be really.. not smart

I really do think that is a very bad reason not to include him. Tails is basically an orange square with ears, Sonic is a blue dot with spikes etc just an excuse because SEGA probably do not think he is worth the time and effort, sadly.

Do not get your hopes up. Please.

They already started to divide it in the last game. All they are doing now is getting characters for the Japanese market since SEGA of Japan would not be too bothered otherwise I imagine.

I'm suspecting that Ralph's trailer might be shown around the week before the movie comes out and if I were SEGA I'd have the trailer shown during the ads (the ads before the trailers) before the movie.

Hooray! So in the Sonic Talk interview with S0L, Nuckles and Shigs requested OutRun's flagman make a cameo, and it's happening! Might not have been their mention that got the ball rolling, but it's good to hear it's happening!

From NeoGAF:

Now who said the OutRun flagman wouldn't be in? I remember saying it was something we wanted to do in a Sonic Talk podcast, so we got him in as a cameo on the OutRun track

Isn't the Out Run track a preorder exclusive?  I think I remember seeing that at the end of one of the trailers...

Not sure if its pre-order exclusive or if it'll be a launch exclusive and once new copies are pressed they'll leave out the bonus content

The Dacina Trailer shows some nice Shinobi Track footage.

The many statues on the left of the track seems to remind me of th ragged rocks on the right on the OutRun game (the Arcade original Route B2).

S0L was right when he said it's OutRun inspired!

Oh cool! I didn't spot the Shinobi track. I love the giant statues!

I also spotted some Tokyo-to police in the JSRF track: http://i.imgur.com/4eI1C.png

Those statues reminds me of the boss from the first game for the arcade. That was a very frustrating boss.

I've noticed that with the 29 characters being the maximum characters Sumo have made for the game, then at a minimum there would have to be at least 25 SEGA characters due to the 3 Guests in the game plus the Avatar/Mii exclusive!

Would that mean there really is only 7 more to reveal?

Apparently these are the names of four tracks:

Shinobi - Seasonal Shrine
Sky Sanctuary - Sanctuary Falls
The House of the Dead - Graveyard Gig
Billy Hatcher - Chilly Castle

Billy Hatcher, thankfully, appears to have only one track and S0L seems to be hinting that Billy is not a racer. It'll be a wholly new track, set in Blizzard Castle.

House of the Dead will also be brand new, but will be set in Curien Mansion again.

Remember what i said about demographics

http://www.sonicstadium.org/2012/10/first-sonic-all-stars-racing-transformed-3ds-details/

lol

You know what this is bullshit.  Kids are smart and often really good at video games.  I would blame this on poor level design and unclear objectives.  Sonic Colors was also apparently geared towards children but it ended up being rich and challenging in its own right.  (and better than Generations)
