Lol. Lookin forward to it. Man when was the last time SEGA even anounced games on stage like that. I know yakuza is always a huge thing at tokyo game show. Sigh*. Crossing fingers we'll see something interesting from SEGA at TGS

I wonder how consumers will respond to the non-gaming related features?
 
PS1 played music CDs
PS2 added DVD movie support (a huge plus at the time) and a modem add-on
PS3 brought things up to high-def, adding blu-ray support, PSN and the ability to watch TV/movies and listen to music on a variety of apps
PS4 has all of what the PS3 had plus... not as many additional perks. 4k video output will wow videophiles, but I can't see the average consumer caring about that feature.

for anyone who hasnt seen it yet, Jimmy Fallon played the Killzone game, graphics look amazing. He was pretty mindblown by them too. The game looks really good, and I say that as someone who isn't a fan of FPS games. This is definitely a huge jump.

If it comes out priced under 400 euros, it'll be a success in my opinion. But it needs to have at least some compatibility with some PS3 or some PSN games.. Or some incentive to make PS3 players shift to PS4 at it's infancy, otherwise it's hard..

Tbh I was really not feeling it. Sony ever since the HD era has been focussing on all these gritty, realistic genres and forgot about fantastical.cartoonish, clean, imagitive games. . I just prefer that more and I really liked that part of sony during the first 2 playstation generations. There should have at least been a balance.

Have you forgotten about Little Big Planet, Gravity Rush, Sly, Tokyo Jungle, Modnation Racers etc? Furthermore we have Teraaway and Puppeteer due out this year.

Sony has always had a near-perfect balance of fun lighthearted games and hardcore gritty experiences. That's what made the PSX so above anything else in the first place. Sega and Nintendo went for opposite markets, while Sony combined the best of both worlds.

its cool to like a sony game now n again, but lovin sony too much is like cheatin on your hot girlfriend with a chick who is not as hot (but shes still hot cuz you dont want to be makin out with a not hot girl)

Well we van really count the ps3 games almost on one hand throughout its whole generation. Ratchet n clank went dlc and recently with a mediocre tower defense game coming out becuz they been too busy with resistance. Jak completely forgotten for uncharted. The team behind sly doing 2 infamous games. I will give ya that the vita has a good start but the ps3 really didnt have too much to offer in this department within its whole lifespan. I think if more power is gonna mean them trying to show it off, we will see even less of that type of game but i hope to be proven wrong.

Aki-at: Also Knack and that Witness game by the braid dev. Say what you want, but I think Microsoft will either go casual (aka Dance Party 5.6) and hardcore gritty. I assume they will finally show that Crytek game they teased a few years back (that ever come out?)

Nintendo is all about family friendly, I think Sony at the show showed a nice balance. A car game, 2 everyone type games, 1 super hero type game and Killzone 4 (for the graphiks!)

The Witness is going to release to the next Xbox too, I think.

I'm guessing Xbox will have pretty similar stuff. Third party games of popular gritty franchises, kooky titles (some Kinect, some not). Possibly some surprises, like some big first party titles. We'll see Kinect on display just as Move was. Though I gotta say, the Move demo was really weird. It was like the Wii Music presentation all over again.

The big things I want to learn from the Xbox presentation are:
• The new Xbox controller, and how it compares to U and PS4
• Backwards compatibility - if any
• XBLA innovations
• Kinect 2 - yeah yeah, I'm actually interested in Kinect. Deal with it.

Says 'console' exclusive: http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/20/the-witness-playstation-4-exclusive/ There will be a iOS and PC version. So I will most likely get it on PC unless there is something big on the PS4 version then i'll wait. I like the idea that people can mod it on PC.


Though, Wii U already is loosing its console exclusives.
