The Witness isn't a console grabber, for sure. But the show was to show the range of the upcoming PS4 software.

- They are in relative good terms with smaller developers. See the Witness.
- They are bringing Blizzard, which hasn't made a console game since.. psone and are bringing Diablo III.
- They are rebooting the Infamous Franchise with a new character and setting. 7 years after the first one. No need to play the old ones to understand the game.
- Like the PS3? Well they are doing that sort of stuff, with Killzone Shadow Fall
- Lots of 3rd party support.

I think this has been the 2nd best showing for me this generation. The other 'best' showing was the 3DS with Nintendo at E3... then they canceled Mega Man Legends and didn't release all the color 3DS' they showed.

Hey, Mega Man Legends 3 for PS4. I would buy day one, no questions.

here is what Jonathan Blow has said about the Witness and consoles in general, says he has no communication with Microsoft, sounds like they don't care about him.

"Our deal with Sony is a limited-time exclusivity that applies only to competing console platforms," Blow said. "Basically it is that you will see the game on the PlayStation 4 before you will see it on the Wii U or the next Microsoft console, if the game ever appears on either of those (whether it appears on those consoles eventually is purely up to whatever future arrangements might happen between us and Nintendo/Microsoft/Random Publishers/Whoever)."

He said that the Sony deal doesn't keep him from also launching the The Witness on PC or iOS at launch, but such matters are more contingent on whether his team can get it prepped for numerous platforms at once. "The ideal situation for us is to release everything simultaneously or close to simultaneously."

"The real situation is that, because we are a small developer, we only have the ability to launch on a small number of platforms at once. We liked the idea of being on a console, and originally we thought we might be on the PS3 or Xbox 360, but eventually we decided not to target either of those due to the relatively low system specs."

"The Wii U still has pretty low system specs, so it came down to a choice between the next Microsoft console or the next Sony console. There were people at Sony who really liked the game and were keeping in touch with us about it, and so we naturally started going to their PS4 developer events, got a dev kit, and started playing with it.

"I don't have good communication with anyone at Microsoft right now, and haven't been disclosed on their next console, but all our technical people like the PS4 specs a lot more than the leaked Durango specs, and we like the positioning of the PS4 (it's about games) a lot more than what we perceive Microsoft's positioning is going to be."

"So we just found ourselves doing a PS4 port. And once we are doing that, it is not practical for us also to think about another console port. We were going to be a de facto console exclusive for Sony no matter what. As I mentioned, there are people at Sony who are very interested in The Witness, so they somehow percolated up through the ranks the idea of showing the game in the launch show."

Yeah, Braid showed up exclusive to 360. I'm seeing a very radical shift in Microsoft and Sony. Basically everyone that launched the 360 was fired/quit and was replace with the new Kinect relaunch team and Sony fired most people responsible for the PS3 launch and replaced them when they launched the slim.

It seems that Sony is reaching out to publishers and developers and wanting them to make games for them . Who'd of known that is how you sell consoles?

Again, right around Kinect's launch all these 'developers' that really loved 360 and did exclusives basically stopped. Not saying they did bad, I just think Microsoft's game management might be too full of themselves (See N64/PS3/Saturn). It feels like after a company does really fucking well, they release a console that they just don't care what other developers really think.

I hope Microsoft proves me wrong and releases a amazing console. Competition is needed since Nintendo is still competing against PS3/360.

I thought Capcpom cancelled the game, not Nintendo?

I'm still waiting for Crimson Dragon on 360. I'm guessing it was delayed so it would be a part of this years Summer of Arcade.

I'm still waiting on the Xbox Presentation before i figure out which Next Gen console i'm going to buy. It's going to be touch, considering both platforms have great exclusive IP's. Not gonna lie though, if Sony shows off Uncharted 4 at E3, i'll probably go with a PS4.

One of the biggest things is probably going to be the price point though.

Yep. We sorta have to wait for Microsoft since they will most likely also be launching at the same time as Sony (would be stupid not too) and Sony will probably show off more games at E3/Price/what it looks like. While Microsoft will most likely have their own 'pre-e3' thing and then show more at E3. Should be good.

Plus TGS is in September, so we will have a better look at what Japanese developers are up to on the systems. I like Japanese games, the reason I got the 360 early on was because it was having lots of Japanese developers doing exclusive stuff and VF5 online.

Hopefully Microsoft didn't forget the Japanese developers. Mistwalker RPG duddddes.

Microsoft have been completely retarded ever since the creators of the original Xbox project abandoned ship. I don't see them turning back now. As always, Microsoft turn a great idea into a shit product. The Xbox 360 as it is now is miles away from the hardcore gaming focus it had when it launched. If the trend continues, the next Xbox will be even worse.
