Last movie I saw was Saw. Specifically Saw 3D aka Saw 7 aka Saw: The Final Chapter.

I liked it! Fitting conclusion(?) to the series, some crazy traps, great cameos. I loved the first movie, liked the second (until the twist, which I thought was fantastic), loved the third, liked the fourth (but the conclusion was again, great), disliked the fifth, was mixed on the sixth. But seven was a good conclusion to 5&6's Hoffman vs. Jill happenings. Overall, I give Saw 7 a 7/10.

I saw it in the cinema. I thought it had the WORST fucking actor for that cop... I just laughed at him in the cinema when he talked to John's wife... "You are crazy person". Fuck sakes.

I didn't think the traps where amazing and the ending.. once again... 'open' to make more movies.

The Social Network

...and I was slightly underwhelmed. Probably due to the hype. Well directed, well paced, good music and cinematography. However I felt like the film could have been longer, as in some issues and relationships could have been explored more. I think it's one of those age old stories that have been told many times in different ways that its hard for it to feel fresh. I have seen the friend stabs friend in the back plot before, so the only thing really keeping it fresh was that it was using a popular website as the device and had a great director behind it.

Oh, and the audio mixing in the bar scene and club scene were awful. We couldn't make out what the characters were saying, so we put on the subtitles. Maybe the bluray was set to 6.1 and we only have stereo? Anyway, overall enjoyable film but not my favorite of the year (2010). THat honor would go to Inception and Toy Story 3.

Rating: 7.5/10

Depending on how things go today, I'll either go see The Green Hornet or Secretariat.

Social Network didn't really do it for me either.
I did love Inception though.

My top 5 would probably be:

1. Inception
2. Toy Story 3
3. The Town
4. The King's Speech
5. Knight & Day (good times)

Oh yeah! King's Speech was great as well.

And nowhere near as good as a "best picture" movie, but I thought Youth in Revolt was hilarious. Best comedy of 2010 for me.

The cereal bowl bit made me lol in the theater, a rare thing for me.

I can't even think of what movies I saw over last year, so I'll just say that Scott Pilgrim vs the World was my favourite.

I just saw The Fighter

I loved it.

Have not seen Deathly Hallows pt. 1, because everyone said it was slow.

Will watch on Bluray when its out. If you have not seen Buried, give it a go. No pants on and the lights out.

Yeah, I saw the trailer for Buried in front of Saw 7 and was intrigued. I'll check it out!

I liked the pacing of Deathly Hallows pt. 1. Yeah, to most Americans it is slow, though having seen a good number of slower paced foreign films, I thought it was paced just fine. Considering part 2 is going to be non-stop action, part 1 balances it out quite well. Think of how Fellowship of the Ring was slow in the first half, putting together the team and getting the pieces in place, and then the second half was where all the big set pieces were. Same thang.

I have liked the past... 3-4 Harry Potter movies, so I will check it out. Hoping for a neat Bluray box set after part 2, since I have been holding out on buying a bluray of Harry Potter for awhile.

I've been going for the Ultimate Edition blu rays, just because I'm a sucker for bonuses like books and cards and stuff. Also, the continuing 8 part documentary is really great. I'm sure that will be in the 8 movie set due in 2012, just minus the books and cards.

The first part of the doc reveals just how frustrating it is directing hundreds of little kids. If I were Chris Columbus, I would have smacked them.
