Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides. I kinda liked it.

I liked it a lot better than the third film. I found At World's End to be really confusing.
Best part in the film in my opinion was Blackbeard's first entrance.

I hate that people keep dying and coming back to life in the series.  It reminds me of a story a 4-year old would make you listen to.  I haven't seen #4.  I might rent it.

To be honest, it still is quite strange for me to see Barbossa in the new movie. I thought of him as a good villain for the original film and I thought it was weird how they decided to bring him back as a good guy at the end of Dead Man's Chest.

POTC 1 was all I needed. The rest was unnecessary. I seriously loved the shit out of the first film, saw it three times in theaters and had the original teaser poster in my bedroom:

It helped that POTC was my favorite Disney ride, but I really did love the scale of the film, the characters (for the most part) and the battles. I think I'll have to pick up the first film on blu-ray at some point and ignore the rest.

POTC sort of reminds me of the '89 Batman series and the Martix trilogy. You can ignore the sequels and can just focus on the great first films.

I just watched 'the curious case of benjamin button'.

That was a fucking ordeal, honestly take out the 'getting younger' gimmick and it's just one of the most boring movies where nothing happens, but not a good movie where nothing happens like Lost in Translation or American Beauty. Just painfully boring.

Thought the first film was good (Pirates), then I thought the 2nd film was the best just because I love the CGI and locations it was shot in.

The 3rd film.. dunno wtf was going on there.

Just saw Kung Fu Panda 2 yesterday. I got water-eyed briefly near the end.

Saw Bridesmaids (don't hate). Funny movie, I enjoyed it! Men better not avoid it just because they think it's a chick flick. Well, it has bits of chick flick to it, but overall it's a comedy for all to enjoy (even animals!).

I'm going to see it this Friday, I was a bit anxious about it at first but when I saw the trailer it looks really good. Also I think it has Rose Byrne in it, and she's gorgeous.

No hating here. I watched it for the second time on Tuesday. Great stuff.

Will try to see X-Men this weekend (apparantly Rose Byrne is in this movie too, that's a surprise).

I saw Bridesmaids last night, it was really funny. There are some fleeting moments of Chick-Flick-ness, but for the most part it's just a really cleverly written comedy. I especially loved the whole 'Air Marshall' bit.

I just watched X-Men: First Class.
I had really low expectations going in. X-Men 3, and X-Men Origins:Wolverine left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. A few odd casting choices, some rewriting of the X-Men mythos as far as characters go, and a really terrible add campaign didn't help.
Speaking as a big fan of the X-Men comics, I'll say without a moment of hesitation that it's the best X-Men movie yet. The whole 60's cold-war/Bond movie vibe works really well. There are a ton of great moments, but I don't want to ruin anything. All I can say, is that if you have any interest in X-Men at all, go see it. Even if you don't, I'd reccomend checking it out.

Also: Michael Fassbender as Magneto was pretty fantastic.

I watched that new 'Pirates of the Milking it' movie...
Pretty damn medicoire. I think the only redeeming part was that Kira Knightly and Orlando Bloom weren't it... Their characters were both awful after the first movie.

Also, Mermaides...
