I'm not saying Boris Karloff isn't a handsome man in his time, just his depiction of the Mummy was suppose to be unnerving and off-putting than just generic handsome monster.

The only reasons the Mummies of the previous incarnation of the movie took on human-like apperances is so that they could mingle amongst the people without drawing too much attention. Sofia Boutella's Mummy was all the attention
