The game has been in the hands of many fans for a couple of months now, CA gave preview builds to a bunch of fans and there are tons of campaigns and previews to watch on youtube right now. That's why there is no gameplay in the trailer.

I did not even know that. I'm going to wait for a sale for this one, I'm glad I waited for $11 for Rome 2. I wish Sega US hadn't rushed CA to release it. I know the Xmas lineup was weak, and they needed to divert funds to Sonic Boom, but they could have done so much more with Rome 2 given the time and finances.

Like...Lock the vikings if you want, but don't just do it because you can.

Add a mini campaign for them, or a new tech tree, or new features or SOMETHING. I would happily pay for Vikings if any of the options listed were available as improvements in a substantial manner.

I think the game looks great and i will sure get it at some point but not yet, i want to see if i can play others things that i have in my lits first.

PD: if you wonder ATTILA have a 81 score in metacritic, but ROME 2 had a 76 AT LAUNCH, so...yeah, i instead prefer to trust the comunnity.

You feel the professional reviews over-rate the TW games?

I'm definitely going to wait and see for this title. I'm glad I waited for Rome 2, I don't think it's a very good TW game at all. I'd be more optimistic about this one but there were so many core problems with Rome 2 that I worry this will repeat most of it, even with tweaks.

I think I'll just wait for the next round of TW tbh. The revival of the Roman period has just not been all that great.

CA should get props for fixing and supporting the game as much as they have, but considering the absolute masterpiece of a revival that Shogun 2 was....I think they just need to stop making demos for reviewers and stick to making games for gamers.

^It's a crying shame, because Rome is probably the most loved period for a Total War game, it has such great unit and faction variety and potential.

I really, really, hope for the best for Warhammer and that they learn from their mistakes. Sadly I'm expecting the worst though.

At the very least I'm hoping they upgrade Warscape or build an entirely new engine, because their current I feel simply cannot do a Total Warhammer, justice.

I lost track, but I believe the engine is due for upgrade or update anyway since it usually gets such a treatment every 2 or so releases(major+Expansion at least.)

Plus the fact that their current design can't even support Multiplatform multiplayer(OSX vs OSX, but no OSX vs Windows) is ridiculous IMO. Especially for a series that wants to push Multi-OS support. It's 2015, and they seriously need to get this act together.

I was reading up about how they brought the family tree back and it sounds very good. So far been hearing mostly positive feedback about this title. Don't think I'll get it soon, but will probably get it on sale at some point (that's partly also because I'm avoiding new games in favor of backlog recently).
