I honestly hope not. The Flash is already OP fast to the point what he can do with the Speed Force boarders on ridiculous. Sonic may not be as fast as the Flash but at least his speed and what he can do with it is in reason.
In Sonic Frontiers, it looks like Sonic is just holding his palms up than anything that would generate wind. I think maybe Starfall Islands is either a Matrix-like digital world that he is on or all the islands are actually a supercomputer than grants Sonic these powers.
