Kinda disappointed, but I'd rather have Atlus take the time they need to make this good than rush it out. It still looks amazing.

My worries about Winter/Holiday 2015 are becoming true. Something really strange and chaotic is happening, guys.
So,SO many delays this year alone.

Well, at least it looks fucking brilliant! This will mark my first deep dive into Persona... Having only dipped my feet into a bit of Persona 3 years back.

2016 is going to have Sonic Next, Yakuza 6, Total War: Warhammer, Halo Wars and Persona 5 all a month or two apart from each other. (This is obviously excluding stuff like Kiwami and Football Manager too)

SEGA laughing all the way to the bank, wonder if the plan was to throw all their resources into 2016 all along.

I know, but previsibilty is broken in a way which anyone is involved some way, some how...I fear the worst to be honest.

Not sure what you mean by the first half of that sentence, but there's nothing wrong with more polish. Apparently the game is content complete. There is this video that clarifies the delay, but I'm not sure what it all says:

I'm not talking about polish or anything.
Underestimate the release date is the problem right here. I mean, losing the sales of Winter and Holidays is a big deal.
Or something is happening to the companies in question or there is some kind of oligopoly around that time which put things in a losing position.

Oh, we're pretending to know how game sales work again. Okay then nevermind.

Seriously though: think about the game you're talking about. While it's possibly the biggest upcoming game SEGA is putting out, it's not exactly a blockbuster either. It's a JRPG that has its niche that'll buy the game anyway. It's more likely that releasing it during holiday season would hurt sales, it's when the much bigger and more advertised games are released.

Besides that, there are plenty of recent games like The Last of Us and Tomb Raider that didn't launch during the holiday season yet sold incredibly well.

Looks really neat. Sad news tho. Will it possibly come out even later here in the west like that fire emblem vs Shin megami tensei game?

Btw it seems like the 2 games look pretty similar in visuals. Probably same engine

You're talking about Atlus here. Even if they didn't already announce that it's coming west, it's pretty much guaranteed that it would anyway. They're a lot better at releasing their games in the US than SEGA is. The problem is more with Europe, they don't seem to be capable of releasing games there without the help of a different publisher. Meaning that games are often delayed or possibly not released here at all. It isn't hard to buy the game through US PSN though.

And probably. It's the same developer so they can share the tools that they use.

No way SEGA won't be publishing this themselves in Europe so there's nothing you have to worry about CrazyTails.

SEGA has been kinda bad when it comes to bringing Atlus games to Europe. So far they've only brought Persona 4 Arena Ultimax here, the rest of Atlus' games since SEGA's acquisition have mainly been published in Europe by NIS America or digital only by Atlus themselves.

I can imagine Persona 5 getting better treatment though.

Oh I don't mean its a guarantee that all of Atlus stuff is coming to Europe, but Persona is a franchise big enough and on a platform that is setting the world on fire at the moment that there is no way SEGA Europe will ignore the title.

Yet NIS America had to handle Persona Q and Persona 4 Dancing All Night here :V
