Sega in Japan

2 End of Eternity 131,576     131,576
8 End of Eternity 28,194     28,194
9 Valyrie of the Battlefield Two 22,635     120,747
26 Phantasy Star Portable Two 6,277     556,433
40 Yakuza Three 3,512     547,079
63 Mario and Sonic at the Vancouver Olympics 1,961     213,552
65 Mario and Sonic at the Vancouver Olympics  1,889     148,629
68 Puyo Puyo Seven 1,715     235,280
85 Puyo Puyo Seven 1,189     45,126
124 Bayonetta  526  208,820
134 Puyo Puyo Seven  405  31,763
164 The House of the Dead Overkill 226  17,197
165 Let's Make a J-League Soccer Club Six  219  157,239
167 Project Diva 216  171,193

Sega in Third

These numbers are all fairly decent. I would expect a nasty drop off for End of Eternity next week though, as it is an RPG, and on the PS3 to boot. I would go so far as to estimate it dropping to about thirty or fourty thousand.

The sales drop for Valkyrie PSP, while disappointing, aren't really unexpected. The franchise swapped platforms. While its debut week was stronger, the fall off was much worse, which is also characteristic of franchise games. And while we're on the subject, it looks as though Valkyrie on the PS3 is at about 840,000 units world wide, and chugging toward a million. I hope this becomes a major franchise.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 is doing much better than I had expected, so I really have no complaints on that front. It seems to be doing quite better than Phantasy Star Zero, and all told I think is helping to push the series into a new bracket of popularity in Japan.

The Puyo Puyo numbers are commendable, and are also par for the course with recent prior games in the series.

Ever since the re-release of Yakuza 3, the game continues to sell quite a bit, Yakuza 4 has every possibility to become the best selling Yakuza game on current generation consoles, so long as the Playstation 3's sales doesn't drop down to sub 20,000 units. Hopefully the release of GT5 would also mean the re-release of Yakuza 4 has a larger audience for the game.

Also made into a sticky.

Good lord, you don't have authority here do you?

And I meant to make  point about Yakuza 3 selling quite well, especially given the install base. And it seems to be hanging on to its numbers on the charts quite well. Its kept a pretty steady pace. I can see it passing the 600,000 mark eventually.

As for Yakuza 4, I'm saying it will debut between 375 and 425 thousand week one.

Of course I do! Why if I wanted to I could effectively make all your posts about how much you love British cuisine and how much it is superior to French, especially the Eels.

And yeah, I can see Yakuza 3 getting past 600,000 myself, Yakuza Kenzen did like 40,000 on it's BEST re-release and Valkyria Chronicles did around 80,000 and with Yakuza 3's sales still going strong, it's set for that I think.

Why can't I be an administrator :( I think this is Anglo-American encroachment on the culture of us poor Continental voices.

Speaking of which, what happened to that German fellow?

Well, again, I expect End of Eternity to have a tremendous drop off next week.

Sega in The United States

32 Sonic's Ultimate Megadrive Collection PS3 16,901 362,984
34 Bayonetta X360 16,668 176,523
43 Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics DS 14,783 859,200
63 Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics Wii 12,315 1,180,574
67 Bayonetta PS3 11,573 105,196
104 Sega Superstars Tennis X360 8,359 1,851,912
183 Valkyrie of the Battlefield 5,824 492,393
189 Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz 5,764 831,631

Sega in 8th 189,286

These are unusual numbers, to say the least. I have no idea why the collection is outselling the Olympics. Perhaps the game had a price cut recently?

The Bayonetta numbers are quite discouraging, to say the least. Those are Panzer Dragoon numbers. Hopefully it will have great word of mouth and follow Valkyrie to success.

Is Superstars Tennis still a pack-in or something?

What the hell is Super Monkey Ball doing up there?

Bayonetta's numbers altogether are predicted to do about 300,000 according to some analysts for January, so if it manages around that number, I think it should qualify as a success. This is just it's first month of sale too. SEGA shipped altogether 1.1 million units, 300,000 of those in Japan, so 800,000 between America and Europe. So I think they'll be getting a few more orders from retailers no doubt.

And yes, SEGA Superstar Tennis is a packin in America.

Valkyria Chronicles seems to be doing pretty good.

Didn't know SEGA Superstars tennis was still selling.  That means All-Stars Racing will probably sell well.

It sells at 19.99 and most sales on 360 are from the pack in, so do not overstate it.

I bought the retail version of Superstars Tennis yesterday used for $2.99. I already owned the pack-in version, but wanted a new case that wasn't 50% Arcade and covered with sticker goo.

Plus Beat was on the back cover.

Now Sega should announce to us how much they sold for the online version of PSP2.

Probably not much, since this selling system is not popular in Japan... yet.

Appearnely a NPD leak show Bayonetta did 100,000 for the Xbox360 and 60,000 on the Playstation 3. That means even MadWorld's first month of 66,000 outsold the Playstation 3 version. Darksiders also outsold it 2 to 1. No More Heroes and Dark Void also for those who cared (Less than 25,000)

Considering the market push from SEGA, looks like it might fail to meet North America expectations.
