That sounds bad if the game's becoming gacha game.
Stupid lottery or better known as gacha in mobile games is what popular in mobile gaming now.
People said they hate it but yet most mobile games' revenue were from these.
Gacha games took the idea of in-app purchases a step further by incorporating an element of gambling into the game that allowed companies to bring in profits that matched and even exceeded Candy Crush.

Yeah but, y'see Gatcha games use real money, or the very least in-game tokens that require micro-transactions to purchase just like Robux. As scummy as this is, this is a "way" for mobile games to make revenue off their freemium games.

But for Sonic Speed SImulator, not so much. I found out that if you pay for one random item from the vendor it costs rings. If you have high level or the right kind of chao the value of a single ring can vary to the hundreds so collecting rings isn't that big of a problem. So it's understandable that while playing gacha with rings is annoying, Sega or Gamefam can simply say real  money has nothing to do with it so it's harmless.

But as I pointed out, some additional content in Speed Simulator requires Robux to have. Not just "pay to win" content like advancement of rebirths and perma-magnetism, but also increase in inventory space for chao and trails. As I said the default number of chao a player can have is 20 chao and the event requires 20 chao to collect.

That would mean F2Pers would have to delete the chao they already got in events or outside of Green Hills to make room for Green Hill chao, or they will have to cough up Robux in order to increase their chao inventory space.

I also notice there is an option at these vendors for three-in-one-go which for some reason costs robux. Whenever that means I get three different items or chances are doubles or triple same items I dunno.

It seems like we've come to the point where Sonic Speed Simulator was all fun and games but now it's time to cough up Robux, and to do so with underhanded loop-hole methods.

I could send another message to Gamefam like I did before but I have my doubts they even read my last message let alone would they bother to read or respond to this matter. I dunno where else to take up this matter for the SSS community to be more aware of it.

Well, gacha is gambling element in games, not pay-to-win mechanism, that's why it's more dangerous. Pay-to-win mechanism would make most of community members unsatisfied and left. Gambling is more addictive, it make them stay.

I'm glad this game is still far for being gacha games, but inventory space that costs Robux still screams "a mobile game" to me. Idola Phantasy Star Saga have us to spend in-game currency too to increase inventory space / expand capacity (but they're very cheap, 500 astrogems for 100 rooms, and I already have 100.000+ astrogems from playing the game).

After Sonic Central announcement, it's likely that they already had plans (Chemical Plant Update, Metal Sonic Event, and more)  already approved by SEGA. So probably it's kinda late for them to change anything (at least for this year, who know what next year brings).

If by in-game currency you mean currency you can earn in game and not sby spending micro-payments in which that's fine. That's how the vendors in Sonic Speed Simulator works.
But SSS inventory requires Robux to expand and that requires actual real money.
That's the issue I have. Past events were inclusive to all players regardless if they were F2P or not. Everyone could come in and play. And if there was an event that require a Robux fee to play then surely it would clearly say so for players to be aware of. But this event made no such statement of any fees, despite the chao inventory limit which can only be expanded on by a fee outside the event.

That sounds dissappointing indeed.
Well, in Idola there are also "paid astrogems", astrogems than only could be paid with real money, not rewards from playing or grinding.
It's similar to Robux I think.
The difference's probably it's more flexible in Idola since many times we can choose how to use it.
For example, if a new character come out, we can choose either paid one time with paid astrogems or try our luck with gacha to get them using the free astrogems we got from playing.
