Weird comment. The majority of SEGA games are not for children... Their current line up is very teen/adult.
Yeah, right now the only games Sega puts out that are marketed towards children are Sonic and mobile games. The rest is RTS, managing sims, or Japanese games that are kind of a niche in the west.

That and calling Nintendo games only for children is a very kid thing to do. :V

Ok. I will agree with you only if you can name a decent WiiU game that is rated M or 18+.

A decent Wii U game that is rated M?

Bayonetta 2, funded to some degree by Nintendo. Ironically, this is also a SEGA property that is certainly not for children.

So Nintendo can only make games that aren't for children if they're rated M or are 18+? Cause a game having a rating lower than that doesn't make it only for children. Nothing wrong with enjoying Mario, Zelda, Splatoon or even Kirby as an adult.

But like MykonosFan said, Bayonetta 2. :V

No one said that liking light hearted games is bad, just that they are aimed at kids. Are you going to argue that Mario isn't aimed at kids? You just said Sonic was aimed at kids not three posts ago. Well we can name a few one off titles that aren't specifically aimed for kids that Nintendo publishes, there is no arguing that Nintendo is a 'family friendly' company.

That isn't a bad thing.

True to a certain extent, I'd say they're more aimed at families than just children. Though even then, a game doesn't need to be rated M or 18+ to be aimed at adults. Games can be mature for reasons other than the gore or swearing that could get a game a rating like that. Like No Man's Sky is rated 7+ but I wouldn't call it a kids game.

Not that Wii U has any games aimed at adults without an M rating outside of maybe Monster Hunter, but still an age rating shouldn't be the defining factor for if a game is mature or not. Though I also don't see a problem with making games aimed at children when there is a lack of good games suitable for kids that aren't made by Nintendo these days anyway, not counting F2P mobile games.

I like the Sonic Boom series and I'm an adult. Spock, you are right about Sonic Unleashed. I'm sorry that you experienced that abomination. Have you ever played Sonic Generations? Have you ever played the Olympic based Sonic and Mario games? Those can be enjoyed by adults even though they are rated E. Not sure about Bayonetta. I've never played that one. There are plenty of M games for the WiiU. There are also plenty made by Sega. Just look it up for crying out loud!

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water as one quick example. I know generalizations are a necessity for console war bullshit and Nintendo is in fact a family friendly company, but saying that Nintendo games are only for kids is just petty.

If by "some degree", you mean "fully", you're absolutely right. Sega did jack shit when it came to Bayonetta 2 except canning the project at first.

Nintendo themselves are a family orientated company which is perfectly fine. The problem however, is they don't have the support of third parties to fill the other gamers interests such as more mature titles.

Reviving this topic. :P

Game came out to minimal fanfare, but positive reviews. I've played an hour so far, for the SEGAbits review, and am liking it thus far. Would have had a review code earlier, but for some reason we were left off of SEGA's Sonic PR list. I asked them to add us again and I got a code, but that was last night which was a bit late for a review to go up this morning.

I did not expect it to be a hot selling game, given the fact that all of its predecessors were garbage.
