Ugly Sonic leads the FBI to arrest Pete, so he's definitely one in charge.
The thing he said getting a TV series where he ride along side the FBI could be a lie so that people won't suspect him if he saw them hanging out ith FBI.

Well.. He's only showing up three minutes on screen so different interpretation could happen.
For me, I don't think this movie is insulting Sonic, and I believe SEGA and Paramount are okay with it too.
I believe he was just leading the cops to where the crime was after Chip 'n Dale tipped him off and that's it. Not really clear he became a police officer or why else would he hang around conventions?

I've seen this interview many times but with various interviewers.

If I had the raw footage, I'd have fun with it.

I could be that too, since the scene's only 25 seconds, it wasn't really clear on that.

Why else would he hang around conventions?

To gather information? He went undercover.

Yes. Were the interview using Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles real voice actors?
All I know that the upcoming shorts weren't gonna voice by them.

Jim Carrey on How He Achieved His Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Performance: I Gave 'So Many Levels of Cartoon'

Quote
"I throw the spaghetti against the wall, see if it sticks, see if it's al dente," Carrey says in the behind-the-scenes featurette.
"I know the material, and then, of course I want to try it a bunch of different ways.
Give the director so much to work with, so many levels of emotion, so many levels of cartoon.
I'll do them all night if they let me."

Idris Elba, Jim Carrey, and Sonic 2 director Jeff Fowler dig deep into Knuckles' motivation
Explains Why Knuckles Is So Mean In Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Quote
"Knuckles is the last of the echidnas. The echidnas are a very proud warrior race that have sort of gotten themselves extinct by virtue of their own aggressiveness," Fowler explained. "Because he's the last of his kind, he really has this deep sense of honor."

Added Elba, "He's not a warm and fuzzy guy. He's straight to the point and means business. He doesn't really understand emotion. He just understands brute force."

That brute force is exactly what Robotnik needs, Carry said. "When he hears about the power of Knuckles, it's a daunting task to dominate this character but that's what he must do," the actor offered. He must use Knuckles' power to his own gains."

I guess.

It sounds like they were. That or they find convincing voice actors. I know Jack Black doesn't voice Po in the Kung Fu Panda TV series.

You said shorts, as in plural? As in more than one?

I heard there will be a short too later when the upcoming Sonic 3 movie hits digital streaming like Sonic 2 right now, but that's still far in the future.

Sonic 3 Movie Aiming For 2024, Paramount Possibly Seeking "Hollywood Actor" To Voice New Enemy (Spoiler Alert!)

Quote
No names have been revealed at this stage, but it might not be an existing VA (like Tails).
Shadow's VA could be more like Knuckles - a big-name Hollywood casting.
And if you're wondering about Amy Rose appearing in the future - unfortunately, the producers were unable to answer this one due to a non-disclosure agreement.

It would be nice to have Sonic movie shorts and content to tide us over until 2024 release.

I forgot he was in those movies.

This shorts usually to promote something (home version or digital version of the movie), to get people remember it again.
This time it's for Paramount+ release, hopefully they would do it again later at August 09 (Blueray & DVD release).

Well while Sonic's third movie won't be out until 2024, we do have both Sonic Prime and the TV series to look forward to tide us over.

Yeah, compared to other game characters, Sonic had it best nowadays.

Added Sonic Drone Home to the first page.

I've been meaning to update the fanfilm list for you. I figure I should wait until the Streets of Rage fanfilm by Fran Campos Films comes out.
