That could work but that will take a lot of time of the movies that would make the movie lot longer again.
They just want to show that Eggman can solve the problem in less than one minute.
They technically didn't, they skipped over it. Which is fine because it shows Dr. Robotnik was still resourceful by keeping cache of badniks in places not even the government knew about... Such as that satellite. There maybe more than one badnik cache given Agent Stone was able to obtain the coffee shop in Green Hills and not only tripped it out with a super computer but manage to hide badniks in the backroom without Tom, Wade or Sonic knowing about it.
By cutting out that scene, they show that Dr. Robotnik didn't need immediate funding given he already had the badniks.
Of course, what I don't get is... if the
Eggpod was regarded a prototype that needed immense cosmic power to function meaning it was a one-of-a-kind flying vehicle weapon that some regarded as the egg-mobile of the movie. But it turns out Dr. Robotnik already made the
Egg Mobile and it was in space all this time.
So either... Dr. Robotnik made those Buzz Bombers and the Egg Mobile as a successor to the Eggpod somewhen during the first movie (perhaps after Robotnik weaponized Sonic's quill and before the fight in San Francisco) and launched them up into space without anyone knowing... or Agent Stone made those abdniks and the Egg Mobile and launched the satellite during Robotnik's absence. It's never stated.
I should probably ask on SNN about it.
