Ben Schwartz to voice Sonic in upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog Paramount movie

It seems that Roger Craig Smith will not be voicing the blue blur in the upcoming Paramount Pictures movie, Variety has reported that the studio has hired Ben Schwartz. The biggest role I recall Ben in has been he’s role in Parks and Recreation. But he has also done some really good voice over work, recently landing the role of Dewey in the DuckTales animated show and plays Leo in the upcoming Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show.

Sonic the Hedgehog movie is set to debut in November 15, 2019. What are your thoughts on Paramount Pictures changing up the iconic Sonic the Hedgehog voice cast for new actors? Do you think Ben Schwartz can deliver a good performance as Sonic the Hedgehog?

Just checked out Leonardo’s voice. I’m fine with this.

Frankly, this guy + Carey + solid creative talent at the help means that the film could *actually* be entertaining.

    We’ll see, I suppose

Live action with CGI characters made by Paramount pictures sounds like a complete disaster to me and I feel this movie should not be made. Sega have no creative involvement in this project at all, sounds to me like Sega are just happy to prostitute Sonic to Paramount for some quick bucks. Do they really care about the Sonic brand? Really?

They’ve been pimping that hedgehog for ages. I bet they’re looking for other creative professionals to do something with that IP just to help them come up with new ideas 😀
