(http://http://www.gsarchives.net/nes/river_city_ransom/sprites/non-animated/alex_right.gif) (I had a feeling this had to come at some point...)
After announcing Super Dodge Ball would be made for WiiWare, Miracle Kidz also mentioned that River City Ransom 2 is currently in development for the PC and a yet-unnamed home console.
RCR is one of my favorite games from the NES era--and then some--so here's hoping for a worthy successor. They'll have some of the original staff, which is a good start.
(I know there was an...unofficial sequel or something, but that never got released outside of Japan. I do have the GBA version, but it doesn't quite compare to the original for some reason.)

Really looking forward to this. Wait... Will it have online play?
-
I'm guessing probably not (if it'll be a download VC-esque game), but they haven't said anything one way or the other.

Sounds cool. I enjoyed the original, but the frame-rate in 2 player made it pretty unplayable :(.
-
Does the original cartridge sell for high values?
-
I don't think so. I got mine pretty cheap locally.
-
Amazon has it for $95 new and $15 used.

Just confirmed for PC and WiiWare.
Makes me wonder why they didn't come right out and say it (considering Super Dodgeball will be for WiiWare).

First reason to use WiiWare in a while.
