Along with my PS3, I got Head Hunter Redemption.
Given that this game is right up there with the best SEGA Published/Developed Dreamcast games I was dying to play the sequel back when it came out but I didn't have a PS2 till 2006.
Unfortunately I never got the opportunity to play this game till today.
7 years to late :(.
The graphics are really outdated, but the music is excellent. Richard jacques for the win.
When the game booted and I heard the familiar theme it was epic.
My biggest complaint so far is the in game menu color is changed from SEGA Blue, to puke Yellow.
It was hard to get used to.
Will keep on posting my impressions, spoilers will follow. Just don't discuss them till I do.
I've only played it for an hour so far!

I really regret getting one of the last big title games for the Dreamcast. At that time I wasn't really into action/stealth games so it kind of fell under the radar for me. Now I am not sure I could appreciate it as much as I might have nearly 10 years ago.
I look forward to reading your impressions.

It looks like it aged better graphically than MGS 2, texture distortion is pretty severe for a game like MGS 2 in comparison.

I enjoyed the original Headhunter, it was pretty awesome. Arguably, one of the best of the final Dreamcast titles.
It's movie influences were off the charts, Jack Wade felt like Clint Eastwood and Chuck Norris mixed into one.
This game was also an original blend of titles like Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil, all mixed into a weird Robocop-like setting.
Bike handling was a pain in the neck, though.
The sequel unfortunately, I wasn't too crazy about it. I gave up on the game entirely after I lost against the Psycho Cowboy for the nth time.

I've got the first one kicking around, but still haven't gotten around to playing it :(.

PsychoStar has a pattern you got to figure it out and then he is pretty easy.
Sometimes in Puzzle games the best thing to do is take a break and come back a few days later with a fresh mind. I got stuck shortly after the Psychostar battle in a puzzle that appeared to be as random as Knuckles treasure hunts but when I turned the game off and replayed it next week I died about 3 times and then I saw, what was right in front of me and finished that puzzle like I eat a chocholate fudge cake.
Unfortunately though HeadHunter: Redemption is a terrible game and that is why I haven't made any posts in this thread cause I thought I could say all the critics were wrong turns out some of them might have been gentle as this game isn't even half as good as it's predecessor, forget the fact that it took 3 years to make this and it should've been better in everyway.

Hence, my dissapointment on the sequel.
The one thing that threw me off, considerably, was the aiming system, when you aim, the scope just twirls around until you actually get a lock-on, why did they change this from the original which was as basic as it can get? I have no clue.
I wish they released the original game as part of the Dreamcast Collection plans.

If they do, they should make the auto wheelie manual like in GTA.
Though I've mastered the Wheelie in the original head hunter, you accelerate gradually over a hundred and he won't do a wheelie, if you put the pedal to a mental then expect a wheelie.
-
I hate that bike in the original Headhunter. It's the game's biggest nemesis after the, well Nemesis ripoff towards the end of the game.
-
Disagree on both accounts!
Bike when mastered is good fun.
Adam is not Nemesis in anyway, shape or form.

Cube, are you gonna write an article about your gameplay experiences with this? I've always been interested in this game but never played it. And you are the Retro Writer after all.
-
I would certainly love to, and you will get to see it one day.
However, I am on sort of a writing hiatus due to my university demands I've not been able to allot time to my hobby of playing games so writing is even more difficult.
The thing about HH:R is that it is such a disappointment and the memory of the classic HH is butchered in such a way I don't know where to start and bashing one of my most favorite SEGA franchise is a tough job.
That said I have 3 to 4 articles planned related to Amuse.
