Title: The Last Airbender
Post by: cube_b3 on May 08, 2011, 02:08:18 pm
Clearly no one proof read the screen play cause if they did they would've noticed it didn't exsist.

Notice how no one talks at all, just like in the movie.

And this scene doesn't exsist in the movie.

Oh and I'm not a huge fan of the show.

I didn't watch the show when the first season aired as I found the pilot for to childish and immature my friends pushed me to watch the show and i'm glad it did cause once you get used to the characters it was very deep and enjoyable.

The last few Season 2 episodes were very disappointing and stupid in my opinion.

Season 3 was awesome although it seemed weird how the number of fighters against the Fire Nation was composed almost completely of supporting cast members, shouldn't they have had thousands of other people with them in the war.

That is my only complaint from the series, the wars seemed to be localized to the introduced characters and not a world full of nameless faces. Other than this only complaint I think the series was fantastic especially for a series intentionally focused specifically for kids, it was amazing how they attracted a huge mature audience.

The movie was empty it was plot threads attached together with nothing to flesh them out.

I loved the TV show. I remember waiting for the "NEW EPISODE" all the time. I was so excited for the show! Although, the first episode kind of left me with a weird feeling. I remember saying "Its going to be so sad when this show finally ends in 2 years."

The movie scene that didn't end up in the movie is probably going to be in part 2 or 3. I don't remember Aang actually battling a lot of ships in the first season. Well, I don't even know if part 2 or 3 will be made. :/ You can't fit the whole series in a couple hours!

I can't wait for the sequel of the first series!

From what I remember seeing of it, it was a pretty lame movie.

It's an amazing movie, he didn't deviate from the shows script, he just shrunk it added nothing new and sumarized the entire first season in 1 and a half hour.

What's sad is the show creators summarized the entire series (minus the ending) in a 20 min episode via the gang watching a play based on their lives.

Anyway after seeing the movie the sequel is out of the question, although they could go ahead with Book 2: Earth as M.Night Shayalamaan didn't screw up anything, he just didn't deliver any emotion or content.

Great show, followed it since it's premiere. Never bothered watching the movie though because I didn't want to taint a good thing.

I've never seen the show, but the movie was like watching clothes go around in the dryer for 90 minutes.

I loved the show. It's got great characters, story arcs that build to intense climaxes and really good writing and voice acting. It also has excellent animation.  8-)

Voice-acting? Are you talking about English Dubbing?  I'd prefer if I watch something that it's in its original language.

The cartoon was made in America, so English is the original language.

Yeah, be sure to tell us how you feel about it!

The entire series on instant watch: http://http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Avatar_The_Last_Airbender/70142405?trkid=2361637#height1223

Give it a chance, it's a slower opening and the show has a lot more depth than it initially lets on. You aren't too old for it though, my friend just watched the series when he was 19.

Dave Faloni, director of The Clone Wars, directed some Avatar episodes. I hear the ones he produced are some of the best.
