From the comment section:
Honestly i’m underwhelmed by this anouncement. I liked overkill, yeah. Alot actually. But that was it tbh. It was good for once but i would rather have back the original HOTD’s.
Lol the best part is that it’s a port.
They need to vary the game a bit more. I felt the zombies were too samy overall. ALso while the level themes differed, overall they never felt unique.
The game was good, but it had it’s quircks. I hope all those will be fixed.
For this game to sell me it needs to feel very different and alot better.

Even though I am majorly cheap when it comes to games, especially over $30 I am one of the few groups of people who bought this game when it came out for Wii at full price. I have never looked back. The game is great fun and really impressed me.
With the PlayStation 3 version of this I thought I would get really mad, but I am actually really happy that more people will get to play this, and especially now that it is being released on a platform just ripe and starving for lightgun games AND near Halloween. Brilliant timing, SEGA. Just wonderful.
This is just the perfect game for 3DTVs as well. The game just reeks of cheesy special effects in films, 3D is a brilliant idea.
And like Barry said in the comments, it is going to be a damn awesome Halloween this year for SEGA. Assuming that Rise of Nightmares on Kinect is good, that is!

I'm just surprised how some Wii owners' comments on the Facebook page almost seem offended by this announcement.

@ CrazyTails: I am not a fan of this game, I really disliked it.
What I don't understand is why those who enjoyed this game would be disappointed with the remake/sequel. We SEGA fans would love it if our Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast games were given remakes with actual time and energy invested and not just milking an hurting the value of a treasured brand.
HOTD:OK was far from greatness, yet Head Strong invested more time in the product and is readying it for HD Consoles, so people should be happy.
That said, those who want SEGA WOW's HOTD Games to come on HD consoles over this one, I 100% am with you.

For people who are mad that a great Wii exclusive is coming to another console, the game is two years old... You had your fun, let some other people enjoy it now. It is not like SEGA is stabbing you in the back, as far as third parties go, they have given the console some of the highest (and worst!) quality games with huge varieties in genres. At least it is not an overnight thing, like Dead Space: Extraction.
Towards Cube's comments... Overkill is better than most of the games in the series. Shove it.

no! just no
even THoTD 3 was a better game, at least it has multiple routes and better visual style.

@ Sanus: I think you need to read my post again.

Speak of the devil. Can't wait to see the new characters. I am now back to my obsession on HotD again.
-
I think Overkill has a slight edge over HOTD3.

Regardless, I'm excited for the port. I hope the extended version comes with older titles too. I'm excited due to the fact that the Wii version's short comings where from the hardware... like the slowdown etc.

I love the PS3 and the series. I will buy it without doubt!
I have bought the Wii version on day one, cleared it, but have not unlocked all the features...
The game is not good as it was when made completely by Sega, but I liked it.
I hope it comes with easy trophies
