Yu Suzuki has a new role (http://http://www.develop-online.net/news/37829/Yu-Suzuki-joins-Kinect-fighting-game-studio) as Executive Producer and Advisor for Tokyo-based developer Premium Agency. Apparently in addition to advising them on mobile games, he's also going to have an advisory role in a new, as-yet unannounced fighting game for Kinect.
The first thing I thought of when I read this was a possible release of Psy-Phi, Suzuki's touchscreen arcade fighting game that saw only a very limited test release. At the GDC event honoring him this year, he said that Psy-Phi ultimately didn't get a wide release because the touchscreen interface caused peoples' fingertips to eventually "burn" due to the vigorous gameplay that was necessary. But, he said, it could probably be done with Kinect.
Well, seeing as this is a new and unannounced fighting game from a developer outside of Sega, it's probably not Psy-Phi, but I still hope that game will see the light of day in some other form. In the meanwhile, let the speculation begin for what it might be...

New job? Wonder if he is finally done at SEGA...
-
Could be that he still has his SEGA job, but is also doing this so he can get his hands on Kinect and make some console games without having to first get SoJ interested in the idea. Damn! I'm looking forward to this! A YS Kinect fighter? Perhaps the next evolution of the original virtua fighter concept?

no he is still with SEGA.
so at the moment he has 3 positions
- president of Ys Net Inc.
- Special Advisor with SEGA , overlooking the worldwide strategies of the company.
- Advisor with Premium Agency.
*note: president of PA is an ex-sega member and he was involved with Shenmue

3 paychecks. Man is rolling the dough.
Already posted it on the front page with a nice photoshop of him playing Kinect.

Yes, and the Chief Creative Officer of PA is none other than Noriyoshi Ohba!

Looks like we've found the SEGA retirement home, complete with indoor swimming pools and massage parlour.
-
He is looking the whole lineup and strategies of this company, not Sega, as far as I know.
We believe that Sega is not giving him any work there.
It means also he is not working on Shenmue 3... sadly.

You can find most of them at Sony Computer Entertainment and AQ Interactive.
You hardly will find someone at Nintendo.
Some others famous former Sega employers at:
- Koei Tecmo (Galaxy Force II creator)
- Paon (The House of the Dead creator)
- Q! Interactive (Sega Rally creator)
- Dream Factory (Virtua Fighter creators)
- Bandai Namco (Sonic The Hedgehog creator)
- Unknown new studio (Alex Kidd, Phantasy Star creator)
...etc...

he is still with SEGA as Advisor (officer) .

"Advisor" means pratically "nothing".
Let's be real, he is doing nothing at Sega... Sega is doing nothing with him.
This situation is getting ridiculous. What Sega wants with him?
LET HIM PRODUCE A NEW TITLE!!! FOR THE PS3!!!
-
And the 360!
-
PS3 exclusive :P

I can't see anything good coming out of a fighting game for Kinect.... Even Yu Suzuki can't convince me.

Among etc. there is a company, ARZEST, established one year ago, whose CEO and President is Yoji Ishii previously at AQ and who was a great figures in SEGA, and who has as its Executive Vice President Naoto Ohshima before at AQ himself.

Storm You'll find part some of the AM#2 Shenmue team at NCL . And the creator of SEGA rally is still at SEGA and for added irony he's left Namco Ridge racer Team to join SEGA and make Rally.
he is still with SEGA as Adviso
You just need to accept what you we told years ago, Yu Suzuki semi retired at SEGA and that hasn't changed. Storm is right the current SEGA has treated Yu Szuki terribly and a insult to this great man's talents. He should be leading a team and making a brand new High End racer and training up new Team leaders and directors ready to step up and replace the old guard.
In the end though I wouldn't put it past him or SEGA that Shenmue III will make it out

...So no mo Shenmue 3
