Title: Who would win the Fight!!!!!!!!!

Lan Di from "Shenmue" or Lau Chan from "Virtua Fighter"

The reason why this would make a good fight is because they both have a fighting style resembles. Lan Di is a master of Tiger Swallow Style, and Lau Chan is a master of the legendary martial art Koen-ken style (or Tiger Swallow Fist style). So as you can see this will be a good match up.

Who will win!!!!!!! ;D

Lan Di, just because the power ceiling in Shenmue seems to be higher than Virtua Fighter.

Lau would have the advantage, because I think Lan Di would be too shocked at a Virtua Fighter coming to life. In fact, he might even think it's some sort of magic caused by whatever secrets Shenmue 3 was to reveal. Remember, Lau is a fictional character in the Shenmue world, and his face is all over Tomato Mart, the scroll shops and capsule machines. Lan Di would be like "What sorcery is this!?" and Lau would be like "I was magically brought here by the dragon and phoenix mirrors, let me show you how to unlock their power!". Then when Lan Di lets his guard down, Lau attacks.

I would argue that Lan Di would be conditioned to that sort of thing by now though, as you said, the Shenmue world already contains some supernatural stuff, so a fictional character appearing to fight you wouldn't affect him too much.

We should make a Sega Characters Battle Royal thread (non-cutscene Kazuma Kiryu would win).

Lau is a chef, Lan is part of the triads.

You know, there are some who theorize that Lau Chan and Lan Di are the same person!!  Total Fight Club plot twist!

  Lau Chan uses a forbidden art and have won the first World Fighting Tournament (Virtua Fighter 1), but obviously Lan Di would win this fight, since he uses supernatural techniques. He is not normal...
