SEGA announced today that they're going to shutdown the XBox 360 servers of Phantasy Star Universe on September 7 (2012), marking the end of all english servers of the game, with only the Japanese PC servers being active afterwards.

Damn . Though I guess I should be surprised, Phantasy Star Universe came out in 2006, there probably isn't a userbase big enough to support the english infrastructure.
It's only a matter time till someone creates their own server like they did with PSU Blue Burst on the PC.

There's already a private server in the works (it's in a really early state though).
The Japanese PC servers of PSU will still be up and running, plus they're free to play (with some limitations, like not being able to trade with other players, not being able to use the room or not being able to use the players shops, for those extra features it still needs a premium subscription).
