Title: Is the Nintendo DS region-locked?
Post by: Emmett The Crab on June 22, 2012, 02:43:55 am
I'd always heard no, but today I finally got around to trying out Super Monkeyball Touch and Roll that I won on Sega Nerds a few years ago, and when I put the game in the DS, it says "There is no game pan inserted",  This is a european version--since Grant sent it to me, and it was new.  What's the deal?

I think it's locked, sadly.

Thanks Barry.  And I should have said Graham, not Grant.

Just like Barry said, the DS is region free, but the 3DS isn't.

I've got a few European, and Japanese DS games that work just fine on my DS Lite, and original DS. It could be that the game card is just bad.

I won that exact same game from Sega Nerds. It worked fine.

But I also won that portable MegaDrive gaming thing. And it came broken, the buttons don't work.
Maybe they just sent used up shit? I dunno..

If that's your setup, it should absolutely work.
